carbon fiber diffuser question

I bought a "eurotek" diffuser from someone online, i dont know much about aftermarket parts, but i am pretty handy and can figure out most diys. today as i was installing the diffuser, the part looked flawless, however, a few tabs were missing/broken off, and i could not get the tabs to align with the slots. is there supposed to be some type of eurotek stamp? are the tabs usually this sensitive??
after frustration, i e-mailed the seller back and demanded a refund.

Yes, some of the tabs come broken off from ET. Yes, when you first approach the install, it's daunting. Once you figure out how to install, you'll look back, slap your forehead, and say "duh, of course". I was in the same boat and thought it didn't fit and even made a youtube video to share my difficulty with Neal at ET. You'll definitely want two people, but can achieve install with one, but with a bit of difficulty. Start from one side, get the clip in, then start tucking the top edge into the little bumper flair/slot, moving left to right (if you started from the left side). Have your second person hold the left side that you just finished flexing and tucking tight against the bumper so it doesn't pop out, once you get to the clips on the right side, you'll now see they do line up to the clip holes. Pop them in, and step back. It's a very tight fit, but once you realize that you can flex the diffuser a bit, it sits nice and snug and perfect.

Mike, you got more groupies now

But yeah, nothing a little elbow grease won't hurt. Was it you who bought the Euroteck Diffuser from the 740Li guy? I was debating on that. Haha.

full disclosure, I broke one of the tabs when I was trying to figure it out before I contacted ET for proper instruction. Good thing is the rest of the remaining clips held the diffuser well enough that it still sits flush and tight

i got the same diffuser from a gb a lil while back and had tons of difficulty installing it by myself. it took some time to install and i ended up removing 2 or 3 of the tabs and sanding down the remaining tabs so they slide into the clips with ease. just so your not to worried about removing the tabs the listed instructions that came with the diffuser said you can remove tabs as needed to make it fit. gl on your installation.

I'm so glad I had Neal install mine. Besides his test car- I was the first to get the diffuser and I still love it.
Good to hear you got it installed.

The ET diffuser is a bear to install but strangely easy to remove. I am sure if you sent Neil an E-mail he wouls send you the install instructions. Mine was missing many tabs when it arrived. A word to all who have one check the brackets when I took mine off the passanger side one had come loose on one side. The body shop is fixing it while they have it for painting.

dont forget about the C63 brackets needed to hold the diffuser in place. Your right the tabs are very sensitive with pressure you can break them easy what i did with my diffuser but my diffuser is a Rev Sport CF diffuser it had CF tabs and one of the ends were not fitting well so i had to fix it my self but after an hour fix it fits well and will never fall off. With parts like this you need to take your time and check for anything that will stop you while installing like small defects.

I didn't think I needed a different bracket for the euroteck diffuser, it's not the c63 diffuser, it's the w204 diffuser.

C63 is still a W204. Some of the diffusers need the C63 brackets but the ET doesn't.

So just to verify. My Euroteck quad diffuser will bolt on without the C63 brackets?

Quad diffusers will need C63 brackets. Dual diffusers will not. The quad diffusers were made for C63 application so has to fit with their stock setup, not ours. I purchased the C63 brackets for my quad.

Guess I got lucky, no broken tabs on install, perfect fitment, and a lil spray lubricant is all it took.
