Question Replacing the ECU on 136BHP CDI Elegance with the Sport Model ECU

Hi All,
I am pretty new to this Forum. So excuse me in advance if I ask you a question which was asked before;

As we all know that Mercedes uses Same 2.2L engine on their various different Model of Mercedes C class CDI cars;
i.e. Mercedes C Class CDI 2.2L engine produces 136BHP, where as C Class CDI Sport with the same 2.2L engine produces 170BHP. I am sure there are more similar examples but for my comparison these are enough examples;

I believe that the only difference between these 2 models is coming from their ECU Programming; basically they have got different maps written in their related Files. re; bhp and Torque related.

Now my question is; has anyone got any idea if there is a way directly replacing & recoding these ECU to obtain more BHP and Torque.

i.e. Is there a way of replacing and recoding an ECU on C Class CDI 2.2l Elegance with the one that is fitted to the C Class CDI sport version. I am sure that this cannot be direct replacement without coding the other modules on the recipient vehicle?
Maybe someone out there can do the adaptation of Sport version's ECU to the Elegance version?

I know and am aware that Mercedes is trying to keep this as top big secret since they do not want us to buy a lower BHP Vehicle and upgrade it to the next level up; but I think if there is a way of doing this it would be great and I am sure that a lot of Mercedes Owners will be very happy about this :-)
I do to thank you to all in advance who will try to project a little light on this issue.
Cheers
Maz

I don't know if you can just Chsnge the actual ecu as I think each one is mated to the car ... but I'm no expert . This is an interesting topic though , maybe some of the MB techs here can break it Dow for us .

Hi Falcon Tuning:

What you pose is whether the case of the twins characterized on the big screen by Danny De Vito and Arnold Schwartznegger is based on documentary facts. I am sorry to disappoint you, but unless the new ECU also provides the energy for the 25% extra power to go from 136 to 170 Cv output, plus the interface to bridge with the crankshaft rpm, you are S.O.L.
It is necessary to physically modify the power plant schematic so that the different controlling program ECU finds the compatible components needed for the larger output from the same 2.143 l motor. Traditionally the difference between models C200 (power:100 Kw and torque: 360 Nm) and C220 (power: 125 Kw y par: 400 Nm) was provided by a turbo. Now, the same proportional difference is kept with Direct Injection (CDI models), however, for "Blue Efficiency" models both motors are made with the same output (125 Kw power and 400 Nm torque). Then, those two different power motors are made using the same block; but, they are equal only if isolated on the bench have the same power output.
Therefore, the passing of Konrad Adenauer y Billy Brandt marked the end of the German Miracle era, and the guys from Stuttgart are common intelligent earthlings who get in their pants one leg at the time.

No need for sarcasm, here is a thread claiming substantial gains for CDI ECU tunes.

Hi JoeVal,
Thanks very much for your reply, but there is no need to act in such a Sarcastic manner!!
I just stated my thoughts and wanted other Forum members views on the subject but in a fashion one should treat each other as they wanted to be treated by others?
The way that you have used simulations and acting such a great knowledged human beings determines your level of life style and education.
I am sorry to tell you that I do not go down to the level that you have acted upon!
