KLEEMANN ECU tune for diesel engines!

Due to great demand, KLEEMANN is now offering ECU TUNE files for all MB diesel engines 2003-present, including the 4-cyl, 5-cyl, inline 6, V6 and V8 and Bluetec, as well as all Diesel Sprinters. ECU tune is priced at $1195.00. For power gains, etc. please email me (cory@kleemannusa.com) with the year/model of your vehicle and I'll be happy to provide more information. KLEEMANN is still offering the plug and play KD-Box and it can be used in conjunction with the ECU tune for maximum results.

What parameters are changed? Is rail pressure or injection duration increased?

Is any difference between ECU tune vs KD Box ? If it's same or similar, why 40 % price difference ?

Can you share some technical specification about ECU Tune with or without KD box ?

Thanks

A

Injection maps and boost maps are revised (among others), and we remove the top speed limiter.

Depends entirely on the engine. In most cases, peak HP gains with both ECU and KD-Box will be around 60 with torque increases between 100 and 120 lb/ft., again, depending on the engine we're talking about. The old inline 5 and 6 cyl. engines don't benefit as much as the later V6's.

what would be the total power gain on my 2009 E320 (no urea injection) with KD box and ecu tune?

Group buy ? I've already purchased the KD-box, any discounts for previous customers

Mileage differences? My mileage has gone up slightly with the KD-box. Any expected changes?

Finally, can you break down the performance gains with the following:

KD-Box only
ECU Tune only
Both

I asked Cory same question and I got the following answer:

----
ECU tuning alone on your ML320 CDI will bring about 40 HP and 60 lb/ft. of torque- this is achieved by increasing turbo boost, as wells injection duration. We are also removing the top speed limiter. The KD-Box will indeed work with the ECU tune and will provide another 20 HP and 40 lb/ft. of torque on top of the ECU for a total of 60 HP and 100 lb/ft. of torque.
---

I'd go with this combination for E-class (remove top speed limiter) but I am not sure if it's worth it for truck (ML320 CDI).

I'd definitely recommend KD-Box (not sure about ECU tune) - I removed device for a few days while I was servicing my car and I have noticed big difference ...

I have it on my E-Class. To be honest, I was expecting more of a difference. It was difficult finding hard numbers for the KD-Box beforehand, but it seemed like most sites were quoting around a 40hp & 50-100 Ft/lbs for the box alone. I keep wondering if I should experiment with some of the other settings on it, but I haven't found anyone who really knew what the results would be (bad or good). I'm using the default setting for a V6 Bluetec diesel, but I'd trade off a little fuel mileage for a bit more power if another setting would provide that. Think you can ask your friend at Kleemann about that? Thanks!

I think you can ask him directly ..He is also following this forum ...If you need more power, you can try Brabus for 3x more money ..10 HP extra for 1500 $ ..not sure if it's worth it ...

As for setting, I think each engine has specific setup and I'd not experiment with those settings ....

No Kleemann KD box for my 2011 bluetec engines only ecu flash. hope one of the tuners will make something similar to the Kd box really soon. Whoever will do that will make a ton of money. Not to many people will want the ecu flash for warranty reasons as the Kd box you could remove before it goes to dealer and no traces so wont affect warranty...

ECU flash for 2011 E350 bluetec

what ECU flash is available and what improvements does it make?

I also intend to install a Snow Performance water/meth injection system since it made a HUGE difference on my 6.0L Powerstroke diesel truck as well as a colleagues 1.9L Jetta TDI.

Thanks.

I don't think I'll be trusting Kleemann again. I found if you pull their sticker off the box, you get a first gen german Diesel Power box, which sells for 200+ less. Their second generation box which also modifies boost sells for the price of the Kleemann. That's pretty sneaky and dishonest, and I wish I had known earlier. Their 2nd gen box actually can back up some of the ridiculous claims that kleemann makes for the first gen box.

Should I spam every mb diesel forum out there with this information?

^^ very interesting
i have the KD box in my car and i had it dyno'ed. the engine put out 327tq to the wheels, so add 18% for power train loss and im at around 385 tq. which leads me to believe my kd box is not working...

mustang dyno
198 hp & 327 tq

Yea, I'm not too impressed. I owned the car for 6-7 months before installing it. I think many of the goobers online that talked it up put one in their car 2 days after ownership and didn't already have an understanding of their car's power. Is that 198HP from your bluetec as well? If so.. at least it's putting around 233 HP to the wheels, no?

Still no tuner out there made a power box for the 2011 blutec engines? Heard Brabus has something and called them 2 about it they just say someone from that departament will call back and they never do, i guess thats too little of on order for them. They probably would called back fast if i told them i want to drop 25 grand on a body kit and wheels...
