Decided to go ahead and get the car tinted today. Went to SD Tint at their Sorrento Valley location (San Diego) as they come very highly recommended for a very reasonable price. Went for the 24% all around just because I didn't want to make it to dark yet I have beige leather so not too light. Overall I'm very satisfied! Posted some pics for you guys to see! Now to start spraying the chrome pieces (emblems, trunk chrome, grill chrome slats) with Plasti-dip...

Thanks! and yeah I'm gonna get some TrimBrite black out tape and see how that works for me.. I'm just worried about doing the chrome around the upper edge of the window since it curves, but it's worth a shot!


I plan on plasti-dip in black just because if I wanted to "white out" the car I'd need to buy rims with a white lip and I'm not looking to replace them anytime soon. Blacked out will be easier!

Thanks man! and yeah seriously they're horrible, I got 3 speeding tickets and front license plate ticket in my last car (bmw e60). I'm gonna get the 11-99 plate put on soon though, so I should be safe =]

Right on! but if you can get your hands on 3M or Avery Vinyl....in my opinion its wayyyyy better than Trimbrite especially on the curves

I haven't heard of Avery Vinyl. Where can i get that or 3M for that matter? I just noticed you were in socal so maybe you knew a good place. I'm in the san diego area but travel up to oc/la pretty frequently if you know a good place

tints are nice. do you have black interior n seats? cause they look pretty dark in the front.

it looks real nice. here in PA the commonwealth law on tint is that 70% of light has to come in thru the windshield and front windows. hopefully soon i can do it on my back windows.
