C63 steering wheel

Hi all, I am a new comer and have c280 estate with AMG package. I would like to change the steering wheel to a c63 one. I read the thread and seem to be possible. I call the local dealer( hk) for the possibility and the compatibility. However, the result is that I can't change.
I have a little doubt on that and can I check this information through the Internet? Thanks

Welcome to MBW
What was the reason they said you can't change it? There are a few members they already upgrade to C63 steering wheel.

Or....the lookalike which saves about half the cost by reusing the original air bag. It is the original diameter, about 1" more than the narrower AMG.

The smaller diameter is the best thing. The oem W204 wheel is the HUGEST wheel steering wheel of any car i've ever owned. Feel like i'm driving an old school Caddy when I grip the wheel.

Wow! I've never heard one inch claim to make such a difference since.....oh, never mind!.

Seriously though , yes, narrower feels better if 1) you don't mind spending double the price to also buy a new airbag and 2) you don't mind losing more sightline of the instrumentation, especially along the top. Part of the problem with the OEM wheel is the thin rim section...the thinner rim feels larger. With a thicker rim, the lookalike feels smaller.

Clearly it is all worth it to me. Click the link in my sig and you will see I spent the $1600 on a wheel and it's worth every penny. It was the one thing I hated the first time I drove the car.

PS I love how disrespectful you are to anyone who has a differing opinion.

What part is disrespectful? The first line was a double entendre joke...note the rolf smiley. The second part agreed with you that ideally narrower diameter is better but pointed out two real differences...no names called, no insults...I know email/text writing sometimes loses context, but no disrespect was meant...just some humor and then why some might prefer one solution, and some another Aside from the joke, how would one have raised those two issues without offending you?

My apologies...wasn't thinking THAT way this early in the morning. I get the double entendre. And yes text does lose context. I take your word for it not meaning to sound disrepectful.

I saw this the other day and wondered if the 4 spoke steering wheel was standard in other countries. The US only has 3 spoke for non AMG models. I would prefer a 4 spoke but I can't figure out if that's an AMG inside they are showing or a regular C. Anyone else in a different country have 4 spokes on their cars?

BTW, these do not have the paddle shifters on them like the AMG ones do.

I did the same steering wheel upgrade as Sportstick and it's definitely my favorite mod of them all. My Carlsson tuning package comes a close second, but damn if that wheel just doesn't transform the entire look/feel of the interior. There's also pre-built wheel upgrades available from Schaetz and one of the forum sponsors (I forget which one). The AMG is a nice upgrade, but I'd definitely rather have the custom wood on my wheel than an inch in diameter. Cutting the bottom of the wheel flat and breaking up the lines from one giant circle made enough of a difference for me both viscerally and aesthetically.

4 spoke is for the luxury models.

The replica does not give you a smaller diameter though. There is a vendor that said they would make one, but I dont know where they are on that. I will try to find the link.

Thanks for the info.

I asked the dealer and the garage technician. The c63 steering wheel is smaller and need to change with the airbag. This is quite expensive. One more concern is that i have paddle shift installed in the present steering wheel. Therefore, waiting m techinician for solution.
