Renntech chip for 09 c350

hello. i'm new to this site . i'm hoping you guys can help me out with this question. will the renntech chip for a 09 c350 make a big difference and is it worth the 1300 dollars? i've always driven GTI's in the past and doing a chip upgrade made a huge difference but then again those cars were boosted the benz isn't so i don't see how chiping it would make a big difference. any help will be appreciated.
thank you

It's a tune, not a chip. You could probably go with another tuning company and get similar gains for a lot less $$.

I looked at the value tuners on here powerchip, Oetuning, and eurocharged. Decided on Eurocharged as they are somewhat local. All sound great. Renntech and Kleemann are extra pricey compared to the above. No doubt they perform well though. But at the end of the day, an extra $500 for possibly 5hp was the main driver.

i talked to a person that works at Renntech since i was also very interested in this tune and Renntech is about 20min drive from my house, actual HP gains are about 15hp.

Not sure who you talked to, but in my experience the tunes on the 268 hp version of the 350 motor can be "bumped" to about the same output as the 300 hp SLK 350, which (at 20% loss) is about 15 whp, conservatively. If they're 20 min. from your house, that's pretty convenient, but still far from your only option. You have to ask yourself if the location is worth the additional money (we're at $790 for the tune, for example).

It's possible that whoever you talked to didn't know, but in my experience you want 93 octane, and even then you can get cheap gas that's overwhelmed with additives and detergents that can make the car stumble a bit. Even on 91, you'll notice throttle response is improved, but it's hardly a night and day difference. More like "1st cup of coffee" and "2nd cup of coffee".
