Seeing as your W204 is a C200 CGI, I can't guarantee he'll have similar results but chances are he'll work something out for you.
Well, not sure where the OP is from but in the US, the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act says that the dealer can only void the warranty if they can PROVE that the ECU tune caused a problem in the engine or something. Otherwise, they can't void the warranty simply because one of the lights went out and they blame the tune for it. They need to provide proof that it was the modification that caused the issue.
Very pricey though... quoted just under $4,000 AUD ($4,100ish USD :p) with the installation.

I understand our cars stock ECU is tuned to balance performance, engine wear, and gas mileage.
I get that doing a tune from w/e company can add HP and increase performance by changing the timing of certain functions, amount of power/fuel released in accelerating or gear shifting, and re-mapping routes for these activities to take place (I am fuzzy on how this works).
Does this mean that any time a tune is done, you will get more performance but hurt long term engine wear, AND hurt gas mileage?

however, has anyone used or heard about techtek or dynatek?
i am up in korea and i found a shop that will install brabus for usd 2500 but they are also so many people who recommanded to get techtek due to brabus's price. i can get techtek installed for usd 1700ish and can get dynatek for usd 1200 but i don't know about their quality or performance gains so....
also thank you for suggesting to contact matt but i guess it won't work since i'm in korea so...
as far as i know, they are two ways to tune your ecu. one is to gain performance and other is to get better gas mileage but i'm looking for performance gain.
im not sure about long run engine wear, but i'm guessing it shouldn't be matter because it's will be same as racing your MB or driving reckless without tuning ecu or daily normal driving with ecu tuned. if you are wild and like speed, your engline will obviously wear out faster than those who doesn't so i don't see why ecu tuning will affect long run engine wear. this is just my thought, i might be wrong thou~ hahha
Go for whichever that would not lose your warranty (Better double check with the seller - do not settle with "seller warranty" ask if it will damage the "MB warranty"). I go with BRABUS since its a well known brand.
PS: I'm going to Seoul next month
And my dad's sending our R350 over to Korea this summer, though I guarantee that it won't last very long without getting door dings...
i'm in apgoojungdong seoul. i didn't think i'd find any koreans in MB forums. hehheh
have you heard about dynatech then?
techtek is a german brand as well.. let me know what you find out.
by the way, are you a car dealer? just asking since your dad is sending r350 over here so......
thanks,
