Map update
My car was in to have Sirius reception fixed under warranty (there was none.. "No signal" displayed) and during that process my COMAND software was updated. Now I have the option to quiet music when navigation directions are spoken.
Unfortunately my maps were not updated, and it seems I'm using an outdated map. When I try to check the current map version, "unknown" is displayed. Given what I've read regarding map updates and COMAND being somewhat finicky, I'm a little concerned that I may run into issues if I try installing a new map update.
Thoughts?

I am having my VA state inspection updated at the dealer today and asked about a new command update (I have a 2010 C300 4Matic) they stated no new command updates exists. Dang! I always like new features!!
What got me to ask was the new feature you say you have now, but my car always has that feature. It always dimmed the music while the lady gave me directions and there was an option in the menu to say dim the music or just talk while the music stays at the same level. I find it funny that on the 09 model that feature wasn't available from the start.
I wish there was a way to perm mute the voice navi options. Its annoying to have to mute her every time I turn on my gps for directions..

In fact it ticks me off sometimes when I'm listening to the news and she comes on with her "Keep going straight"

Ever try turning on the "auto communicate traffic conditions"? Jesus christ she never shuts up! Every 3 mins all I hear is
"On the 495 between exit 39 spout river run parkway blah blah blah traffic congestion average speed of 5 mph". Really makes the feature quite useless...

The COMAND update that was installed also now allows me to show "personal" POIs on the map instead of just a few factory options. This option wasn't available to me previously.
