AYFKM? are you ing kidding me?
Ok, so I spent years in the 5.0 Mustang world where the most blue collar of cats had more than enough $ to pop for powder coating.
WTF is the deal with cheap-o MBZ owners and plasti-dip???
Live a little, spend the $400 and have your wheels powder coated and stop with the trailer trash spray mods.

plasti dip isnt permanent so its very appealing, why spend $$$ on powdercoating when you dont know if youll like it. not to mention you wont have rims for a few days with coating them and plasti-dip takes 1 hr. also im sure the dealership likes untampered with wheels if you plan on trading it in.

I honestly dont see anything wrong with it, obv I wouldnt go spray any large amount of it on my car, but i did my grill and it looks the same as a buddy of mine who spent $160 on his off ebay. and im not trying to be cheap (seeing as I have spent about $5300 on mods) but why not save a buck when you can?

dont come to a thread just to be a dick for the sake of being a dick. if people feel like plasti-dip achieves the same look and isnt as permanent or costly as powder coating, let them do it. no one cares what you do with your car, so why care what others do?

Probably more appropriate in a Mustang forum.
My $0.02 is that maybe we could all try to be as refined as the Mercedes we love. This garbage doesn't have a place.

lol why do you care so much about what other people do to their cars? this is your own opinion...which in this case, should've kept to yourself. I could plastidip my entire car and not give two sh*ts about what you have to say about it.
"bingo.....just cause you have a euro doesn't mean your made out of money....I've seen people plastic dip stuff before and couldn't';t tell between that or paint/powder coat..."

that's like saying why get a Xpipe, just shell out the money for a catback exhaust.
Matter of fact,
why buy a c350 cos shell out and get the c63.
People do things they want for their own reasons. I'm just glad you sold your mustang. lol

I havent plasti dipped anything and I probably never will. I have access to a bodyshop for free so I can paint anything I need. I never heard of the stuff til here. I did buy a can and paint my bobcat in a few spots, but it does look decent if done right. AND you can peel it off, thats the beauty of the stuff. I can tell your older, and im in my late 30s, but who cares what they do anymore. take whatever ideas you want and leave the ones you dont. I copied alot of ideas from the board, its about sharing, and information. I understand what you mean tho, but if we were all high rollling we'd be in black series benzez not C classes

I've never heard of plasti-dip until a couple months ago on MBWorld, and I've been here for almost 2 years. At first, it seemed like a cheap way out, but after learning about the pros, mainly being able to peel this stuff off, plasti-dip is kind of attractive. I'm with you on powdercoating wheels, though. I'm not sure how durable plasti-dip is, but I think it should be left for small jobs, like getting rid of chrome trims.
This is a discussion board for a reason.
