**** you Tuesday
In the office for 4 minutes, then I get a call to come downstairs.
Heavy gouges in the plastic of the bumper. Do you think I'll get a new bumper or will insurance just try to get filler and paint? I have no luck with this car, first my trunk gets keyed to **** two years ago, now this...
Good thing I havn't put the CF diffuser in yet.... I dont get how the **** he backed into me. The pathway to that rear receiving door is about 15 feet wide...

I cannot imagine the insurance would do anything but replace the bumper cover if the damage is more than paint-deep. Though maybe things are different up there?
I've never had an insurance company try to do anything but make their best effort to make the car whole again.
Now -- when they total a car that's a whole different story. They put the sharks in that department. They'll lowball and pressure you like nothing else.
But I've had nothing but good experience with field adjusters.

it goes by the year of the car, after 2 years (usually) they repair not replace unless it is damaged pretty good. Hard to tell by the pic but it looks marked not broken surface. IF so they will repair and paint, you may be able to pressure the company into a new one, thats what I would do. If the adjuster comes out and you can be available smooth him up. You could always make it worst and rip it so they have to buy new one, but thats insurance fraud
but thats just my move

an EX girlfriend of mine backed my c350 into a huge landscaping rock (car was 2 days old with 40miles on it) and the damage was pretty similar to this but actually took small chunks out of my bumper, insurance sent the car back to the MB dealership and they took care of it. ask your insurance what they would do before following through though.
i feel your pain with the bad luck i hope it all works out for you

Did you ask the driver or the company if they'll pay for the repair? Sometimes it is better for both parties if insurance are not involved at all.

This actually just happened to my sister's 2011. This is the second accident within 4 months. The first accident she was in the outside left turning lane and the person from the inside left turning lane tried to go straight and hit her driver door.
The accident yesterday is this exact scenario. My sister went to the gym and when she came out she found a note on her car saying someone backed into it and information to call. It was in the corner of the rear bumper a big dent and scratched paint. She just went to whatever body shop the dealer recommends for both and the jobs were flawless and the damage was much worse than this...
My word of advice: Be grateful that the driver stopped or reported the accident to call you down and didn't just drive away. I have had to foot the bill of 3 hit and runs on my g37 (my first car), and it isn't fun...
