C350 2008 upgrade options
Hi,
I just completed the three years warrenty period for my Mercedes C350 2008 AMG package and now its time for an upgrade.
I got a deal from my local MB dealership to get the catback (rear half) of my exhaust system which is for the C63, but that will change the look and sound with no perfopmance.
I also ordered the K&N air filters, which will have very little power upgrade and more sound.
The issue is I was hoping to get the headers changed which was to address the "required extra"power for the low end RPM, but the C63 headers wont fit ... Any ideas on alternatives?
I am really only looking for an extra punch at low RPMs as once my ROM jumps above 3.5~4 the car is very alive.
I also saw on ebay the Volo performance chip but I am not sure if that is worth the try? Its supposed to plug onto the OBD connector... doesnt the 2008 model not have that connector anymore?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I anew to upgrading Mercedes ...

just get your ECU tuned, theres gotta be someone over in UAE who does benz mods, theres tons of guys w $$ over there lol. I wouldnt bother w a C63 exhaust, go w eisenmann just mufflers unless you want it loud. These 2 will pep the car up and make it sound nice..

Hey,
Thanks for the response. The deal I got on the exhaust is very sweet as I am getting all the parts at 70% discount... so its cheaper than anything I found online even
I am afraid to tinker with the ECU as the maintenance here will not be easy as the dealership will give me a hard time if it is not factory setting. They actually suggested I get an aftermarket header and they can retune the car.
The problem is all the headers I find are for the 6.3 ...
If I can find a bolt on installation header upgrade I would buy it and ship it here... installation will be easy. as long as it is a bolt on...
The problem here is most guys do have lots of $$$ so they buy the C63 :/ not the C350... and any upgrades here are usually just esthetic on the body but not performance... so you will get C200 with a body kit for the C63... all looks and no performance.. lol

I found the header from Kleemann and they are available locally. I am going to check with the local dealer in the coming weeks to see the anticipated cost... hopefully it wont be an arm and a leg.
In the meantime catback, wing and airfilters are being installed...

Best bet is to go full Kleemann. And don't put a Volvo performance chip on a MB if that's even possible... We do have an OBD-II connector.

Yeah the Volo is some false marketing... doesnt work and can install it on the W204...
I am going to checkout the cost of the Kleemann but the guy is not available till next month... :/
I was also looking on the web and found trails of emails and posts on OBX header for 300 USD??? reports seem to indicate they are a copy of the Kleeman and are made of generaqlly good craftsmanship... but cant find them anywhere to buy them.... For 300 I would just try them out before spending the big bills on the Kleeman headers...
Anyone have any idea where to get a set of these? and experience with the OBX headers?

just make sure they have a threaded bung for the sensor(s), otherwise you will always have a check engine light on all the time(CEL). sometimes the cheaper ones dont come w them, theres a guy just posted on here youtube video and his CEL is on, not sure if he didnt install or couldnt. I would try the cheaper ones, 300 isnt bad and install isnt too bad either. And dont worry about the ECU, less than 1% of cars ever get them reflashed from the dealer and they will never know unless they spend alot of time w the star machine. Its the best bang for the buck HP wise, your gonna have to do it w exhaust, filters, headers mod anyway to get the proper performance

Well no noise in the cabin until I really kick it and even then it's not so loud. I am still waiting for the filters to come next week, then will decide in header.

I got mine from the dealership at abu dhabi. Some guy bought the kit and sold his car before installing it. So I got a sweat deal of paying half price and free install jut to get the items out of stock
