Good luck! And, don't hesitate to make good on taking back the keys on the first speeding ticket!! The other research finding, now making its way into various state laws, is to not allow any friends in the car for the first year...too much distraction and encouragement for the wrong behaviors.

If the vehicle hasn't already been bought for the teen driver, I know Ford offers this functionality through Ford "MyKey" or something like that. It can limit the speed to 80mph, you can limit the sound of the audio system, and allow for the seatbelt chime to not stop going off, and for chimes to be played continuously when over a certain speed. Pretty cool functionality.

I have been hard pressed to find things about adding speed limiters. Perhaps you could ask the dealer and they could re-program the current speed limiter to a lower speed?

The dealer can do this for you, they will charge you tho. When u remap an ECU they usually remove the speed limit, they can actually change it as well to a different set point. Has to be a larger dealer that has good techs I think, my local one cant even change oil right

I'd like to add an unsolicited hat-tip to the OP. Giving your teen a very safe car is a great thing (and being in the position to be able to is being blessed), but knowing that teens will be teens and risks will be taken and limits will be pushed and doing a little passive parenting with a governor, it's a great thing.
