Exclamation Driving the 204 to Lake Tahoe, leaving at 5am 6/26/2011

so were driving the 3 week old C300 in 3 hours to lake tahoe.
i was 11 years old since the last time i went to Lake Tahoe, and that was during winter time, and i have not yet been there/driven there ever since, especially during the summer.

so im thinking weather is going to be nice, and will actually get to see the green side of lake tahoe for the first time lol

so its a 2 hour drive... is it practical to drive the C300 out to Tahoe? should i be worried about rock chips???

Also, what is there to do in Lake Tahoe during the summer? Best place to go sight seeing??
and since were leaving at 5am soon, wheres the best place to grab Breakfast, Lunch, and possibly dinner?

Anyways, thanks guys! looking forward to hear inputs

Take a couple of thermos's for coffee & freeze some sandwiches the night before to take in a little esky.

Much better than drinking crap coffee & unhealthy fat laden food on the way !!

Enjoy Lake Tahoe but watch that you do not end up a bear dinner.

I dont know where Lake Tahoe is lol but im assuming your gonna get a couple rock chips driving anywhere for 2 hours. Most likely just front bumper. But i dunno maybe the roads are good down there. I know here if I drive on the highway (freeway) im for sure gonna get a couple rocks shot at me lol

Also im assuming you dont wanna take out the C32 AMG since im guesing its a gas guzzler

And yet there soooooo much more to do in Lake Tahoe besides gambling It just depends on what end of the lake you're venturing to. I've always found this to be a good source: http://www.tahoesbest.com/places/

As for rock chips, they're inevitable. Either a clear bra for your paint + Laminex for your light lenses, or a little bottle of touch up paint, sand paper and detailing products if you're into that sort of thing. As time consuming as it may be, I've actually become quite proficient at managing most of what I get on my paint.

Its windshield chips that I can't control fix on the cheap.

Hope you're having fun

yes! 204 made it to and back in 1/2 a tank vs C32...wouldve been a lil worse lol ALTHOUGH, i wish i did take the C32 MAN those canyon twisties are FUN!

the 204 was fun too, tight cornering, but when it came time for a lane pass...i was WISHING i was in the C32 lol

PLUS the weather was BEAUTIFUL!

Pics of quick little trip to SLT

Hows it going guys, first off, driving the 204 is a blast! ^_^ and the LED DRLs are

so instead of leaving at 5am, we ended up leaving at 10am lol.
Car was super fun to drive once we got up to 3000ft up in the canyons/twisties . The 204 was very responsive and tight, and was very confident taking tight turns.

Gas consumption was amazing, made it to and back in only 3/4 somethign the C32 refuses to do lol

As fun as the 204 was, when it came to passing lanes, i was wishing i was in the C32, but regardless the lil trip to South Lake Tahoe was

Here are some pictures of the trip

dont see any obvious super visible rock chips, just the typical front end bug splatter
