Back-up Camera for 2011 C300?
I'm reading through the posts, on this VIM piece...
I'm assuming the following:
2011 models already have a connector to plug your camera into located in the rear quarter panel.
You need a special adaptor cable to make the camera to cable connection.
Do you still need to tap into your power, or does the connector provide video signal as well as power and trigger (reverse engaged) signals?
What cable do you need to adapt say a Kenwood CMOS-300 to a 2011 system?
Also, does anyone have a link or instructions on how to enable the back-up option on the display?

I don't think 2011 C300 is pre-wired for rear view camera. I checked with MB corporate center and my dealer. Both told me that.
I like to add the camera but since it's not pre-wired I just forget it.

I thought about adding it myself. However, I am not comfortable with taking the COMAND unit out without any scratch. In addition, if something else goes wrong, I might void the warranty.

No warranty void... plug and play system for that car. COMPLETE install instructions with loads of pics included with the kit. Pretty easy for that car. In addition, any shop can do it easily. We will even find you one (it is a service we offer with purchase)
