3M clear film on front bumper

I wonder if someone has the clear film on the front bumper. I got a quote of $370 for the front bumper only. Is it worth? does it really provide a good protection? I am about to take my car in but want to hear someones experience first.

Thanks

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I spent $800.00 on my hood and bumper. I installed it on my headlights, rear bumper behind the tires and door handle cups. It's worth it.

Thank you all for the replies.

The quote I got from Mr. Tint:

For your Mercedes C300 our prices $750 for the bumper, hood, lights,
mirrors and fenders. You can also add areas like the door cups and
luggage area kit. If you are looking for the entire front end of the
vehicle protected you are looking at around $1100.

I will probably do the front bumper only where it gets most hit.

Too much.

My car has the bumper, hood, fenders back to the flare, mirrors, headlights and fogs for which I paid $699. I declined the door cups and the top of the rear bumper which would have been included.

Of course, this was 11/07 and I'm not in California.

Plastidip (clear or colored) is simply used to add a layer to protect a surface from the elements; from the manufacturer's website:

Plasti Dip is a multi-purpose air dry, synthetic rubber coating that can be easily applied by spraying, brushing or dipping. Plasti Dip protective coating products resist moisture, acids, abrasion, corrosion, skidding/slipping, and provides a comfortable, controlled grip. It remains flexible, stretchy and will not become brittle or crack in extreme weather conditions; -30°F to 200°F.

In other words, it does nothing to protect from a projectile coming at your paint at high speed, at least nothing that could compare to a 3M bra.

That, and I'm not sure how "clear" is their clear... Or how the paint would show through however many layers you decide you might need.

depends whether or not you are a perfectionist. I should note that the 800 I paid for just hood and bumper was a custom install job and not a precut job. That means that it was cut on the spot to ensure that the entire bumper is fully wrapped in every crevice. My hood was also wrapped around the edges of the sheet metal so that you dont see the cutoff line. Overtime, that line can get buildup of wax and show an ugly white line on my black car

I would not go to mr tint for a clear bra install. Go to a place that specializes in clear bras and not some place that does a little bit of everything

Totally worth it and the only time sensitive mod. I spent just under a grand doing full front which includes bumper, fender, fogs, heads, side mirrors, and full hood wrap (I hate that line that goes across it) from Premier in Fremont.
