performance upgrades and warranties dont typically go hand in hand. best bang for buck on performance would be an ecu tune but you can kiss your warranty good-bye. stock intake is the best your gonna find and exhaust are more for sound than anything on this car unless you shell out 2K-3K on a performance exhaust which might get you little to no performance.
try looking into a sprint booster, doesn't add any more power but from what people on here have said it eliminates lag.

Search is your friend
You'll find endless threads about ECU tune, Sprint booster, exhaust, etc.
I'll be honest with you... Making your C300 to a mini C63 or even close to it is out of the question. If you are on a tight budget you may start investing on an X-pipe ($80) which will replace your stock resonator. It will not improve performance but it will make your exhaust louder when you hit the 3,500-4,000 rpm mark.

I will paste a reply that I made last week to someone else on a different thread:
I'm not really sure that chipping a normally aspirated car gains you a whole lot. A chip really will gain you the most bang for the buck with a forced induction car. The two Audis I had previous gained around 40 hp and 80 ft/lbs of torque with just a chip, but they were turbo cars. I would think the most you could get out of a normally aspirated car would be *maybe* 10-15 horsepower? To get significant power increases you'd have to put a supercharger or turbo on the thing. These cars aren't exactly rocketships to begin with. If people want to go really fast, the C300 and C350 aren't where you should be spending your money. I've had 2 Audis (both very modified), and a Lotus Elise (after market supercharger ~ 245 hp on a 1950 lb car). All of those were extremely fast. I got the C300 sport because it looks good, and is sporty, but I'm not fooling myself into thinking it is a fast car. Do I love it? Yes. But, I'm not out there trying to win any races with it.

The sprint booster will not make your car a C63 or even close to it. However, what it will do is givve you more throttle control and reduce the lag that is inherient in the car. Making it louder, will only increase the noise level, not anthing to do with performance. Also, I find that I use my manual function of my transmission, by using 4 gear around town, which also gives me more control on the acceleration and usually run the car around 3,000 RPM most of the time, not the greatest on gas, but it seems to give me more control and speed when I need it.

for performance with a budget, an ecu is your best bet. exhaust can come later cause it doesn't really boost any hp gain (for looks and sound). figure out what steps according to your budget you would like to mod first then go from there.

thank you , so much!!
I just bought this car for my future wife. I appreciate all the input from all of you. Again, thank you very much, I think she will enjoy it more than the Sonata 2.0t limited that we had planned. Wow what a great little car.!! Now I wished that I bought her a c63.. well that was 2 times the price so I think we made the right move. Thank you all again!!

Well for what it does, I love it! Makes the car more responsive and aggressive throughout the rpm range! The LSD is just phenomenal... But, it's quite pricey... But, a night and day difference. The fuel cooler is noticeable when you push your car hard for a prolong periods of time.

The ECU is really nice mod... It's night and day. Granted it's not like your going to be setting records, but it makes the driving more enjoyable! The LSD is ONLY worth it if you track your car...

The ECU is the best bang for your buck! That's where you'll notice any REAL performance! The x-pipe mod is nice, but your not going to feel a huge difference in your car... I'm sure it yields to some hp/tq gains but are very minimal to notice. Unless you start playing with the headers and/or cats, only then can you make some power in our cars from exhaust. Again, there is only so much you can do to this car before the limit is reached. Good luck with your modding and enjoy your car!

well, ECU really should be the last mod you do if you want it done right. Get all the other performance parts in place, then have the ECU tuned with all the new parameters from your other mods. If all you're going to do is an ECU, then by all means go ahead, but if you're planning on throwing on any kind of intake, headers, water, meth, exhaust, race cats, etc, do the ECU last.
The best bang for your buck really for performance on this N/A m272 engine will always be a remote turbo.

if you plan on doing major mods then ecu should be last on the list and your tuner can tune out any thrown codes as well as properly tune your ride

Ahh thanks. I figured it would be better to just invest first in the one that would make the most difference.
