Question regarding Auto Dim Mirror on ebay
Here is the item:

The seller says I need to know if my car is pre wired for the home like and compass. How do I know that? I have the 2009 c300 Sport. No multimedia. Just the base.

I am not sure how 2009 C was optioned. With 2011, homelink, auto dim and compass are in Premium 1 package, not in Multimedia package.
Best is to call MB corporate center. I called them a few times for rear view camera pre-wiring. My guess is that MB does not pre-wire anything. For example, I either buy car with the factory camera, or I have to wire the after-market camera myself; there is not camera pre-wire.
For homelink and auto dim, it could be just 12V required. For compass, I don't know maybe antenna? You can search other similar rear view mirrors of the same type, not just for MB, to find out what is required to make all three features work.
