All of the items included in a new C300

Hello,

this may sound a little crazy, but could the owners who have owned their car since new go through the items that were given in the car?

I recently purchased a used 08 C300 and I am sure it has some things missing, and I have a bit of OCD wanting to have my car perfect!

So,

in the spare tire I have:
Lug wrench,
tow hook,
fuse chart,
and wheel chocks,

am I missing anything else like spare fuses (I noticed there were none in the car) or the white gloves?

I have panoramic roof and I am wondering if a car optioned with panoramic roof has the manual closing ability and comes with the manual hex tool to close it? I know regular sunroofs have it. My car with panoramic does not have it, but that could just be misplaced.

As far as the books are concerned, it seems I am missing the Harmon Kardon demo CD (I have the HK sys), and the Factory Approved Service products book, both of which I will try to get a hold of on eBay.

A detailed question to the 08 owners regarding the Factory approved service products book, if they could just look at theirs: for the 08 cars does this particular book say 2007 or 2008 on it?

Anything item I didn't mention please let me know, as you could probably tell from my post above, any item even a very minor one.

Thanks!
Conner

Things you're missing appear to be white gloves, fuses, front license plate holder (since they're not required in FL, they don't normally mount it, just leave it in the trunk). My HK came with the demo CD you're talking about. Mine also came with a first aid kit, and a book on the iPod integration. I don't remember seeing a tow hook.

Where were your spare fuses located and how were they packaged?

I have the first aid kit, and I don't have the ipod option so I don't need that book.

The tow hook should be there somewhere in the spare tire.

As I recall, they were in the trunk, inside the little tray on the spare tyre. They were packed in a plastic bag with an MB label. I'm going off memory, but if you like I can take a closer look / take a picture?

Out of curiosity, how are the sides of your trunk? My W203 had some space (lowered) on the sides where I could store a spray bottle of Rain-x in the straight up position and it would stay there. My W204 doesn't have it, but I've seen it in MY2011 loaners. Sorry if I wasn't able to explain it clearly.

What the heck? What would these be for? Pumping gas or wiping your *** at truck stops.

Come on, you know what the OP means.. you're buying a used car but you want one that's in mint condition, well maintained, no cosmetic defects, with all the original books, etc.

Mine is most likely like yours-it has on the left side a compartment with a door that holds the first aid kit, and on the right a compartment with the fuses. I think that in the newer models they added those spaces you are talking about.

And hey, I don't want to cause you any trouble, but if you happen to be in your spare tire compartment with your camera, why not

I can see them being used for pumping gas, but I wouldn't advise wiping your *** with it.. not very soft, nor would it be sightly to have white gloves with s***-stains..

Jokes aside, they're there to keep your hands clean while changing tyres or propping up the hood.

Yup, same here.

I'll snap a picture with my cellphone when I'm leaving work today. Have to pop open the trunk to put my laptop bag in anyway..

Thanks!!

Looked a little more into the side compartment thing-turns out if you have Nav you have a door with the first aid kit behind it like us (so I'm betting you have Nav), and if you don't have it, is the side space. Reason is if you look behind the first aid kit there some component of the nav system that they stick in there.

Ahh, I've never looked to see what was behind the first aid kit. I do have the Comand nav, and I'd always heard that part of the unit was in the trunk but I didn't know where.

And here are the pics...

Don't be obtuse. One obvious use would be tire changing alongside the road, maybe even in the rain at 2AM.

Thanks! That is just what I needed to see, I now I just need to get a hold of a pair of gloves and spare fuses.

Btw, I remember you saying you don't remember a tow hook but I see it in your picture, on the top of the picture you can just see the big threads.

Thanks again,
Conner

I was being a smart **** as usual. I don't know about most of you but I don't need gloves to change a tire. I use my man hands to do actual work.

I thought there were some limitations on what Roadside Assistance would do for you once you were out of warranty.

It changed as of 1/1/11. I thought I picked up a brochure from my dealership a while back, but not sure where I put it. There are some improvements and some new limitations as I understand it.

Here are some "eligibility" details, directly from MB's official Roadside Assistance website:

http://www.mercedesroadside.com/road...y-and-coverage

Also, here are the "Program Enhancements", again directly from the MB official Roadside Assistance website:

http://www.mercedesroadside.com/road...m-enhancements

Edit: I'm not saying that the changes effective Jan. 1 are necessarily bad. It' still great value as far as I'm concerned, but I was just pointing out that some eligibility criteria has been put in place.

Thanks for posting that. Good to know because I'm not sure if I would qualify for it.

2009 C350 Sport w AMG 2 package
Thumbs down Missing base features&tools, But have "pick&choose"options

I have a 09 C350 Sport I got in 2012 with 27k miles AND with a mish-mash of package features, AND of course, NO owners manual, no tool kit or fuses.I have only put 10k miles-still under warranty+the extended but the battery from South Africa died on me and the dealership said too bad, and hung up on me MULTIPLE times-Im not paying $400 !!HECK NO! I LITERALLY spent 12 hours on the phone with the dealership (Van Nuys) and MBUSA until I complained SO much they sent a tech out to give me a free battery. The battery was 6 years old!! I got the car in 2012!! NOT UP TO CERTIFIED Standards whatsoever! ALSO. My front ashtray Outlet does not work, never has, took it in for service and was told it was fine and now a penny is lodged inside! There is no record, according to KEYES of me ever coming in for that nor the exterior defective mirror, which they also refused to fix! Im so MAD that I cannot even have my own owners manual and tool kit. UGH -anyone else ever come across this? my VIN shows the car as a standard base model-but it is absolutely not. I cant even find ONE 09' C350 that has all of the super luxury AMG 2 package options like the 18" wheels, sport suspension (from AMG) as well as the body kit-PLUS other random options, the Multimedia package with sd, ipod, 10 speakers, dvd player, Harmon Karden 6 disc sound system, 7' inch screen, Command Voice control. xm radio, rear window sunshade, sun&moon roof - then to learn the specs on the base model and I am missing the many things. Im very confused and Just want to know what my car is! And why after being a LOYAL MB customer (my 3rd car now) they would yell at me and hang up and OMG! I cant even begin! If ANYONE else can tell me SOMETHING to make me understand-PLEASE!
