C300 Heat Question
I searched but was unable to find the answer, so apologize in advance if this has already been covered.
My 09 shows that it is running at a temperature similar to what has been discussed here before. However, I sense quite a bit of heat emanating from under the car, to the extent that if I am idling and put my hand out the window, I can feel the heat. Similarly, as soon as I get out of the car (after turning off the engine), I can feel the heat on my legs.
Is this normal?
So, as you can imagine, when I start back up while the engine is hot, the fan revs up and everyone looks back wondering what is coming to get them (though I find it funny).
I purchased it used (with wheels that folks around here seem to hate) and it has been doing this ever since. Only driven an Audi and a much older MB in this class so far and neither did this. So wondering if I should worry.

My W204 hasn't exhibited this behavior, but my old 190E had a very similar issue. It might be a bit old school, but you may want to check to see if your fan clutch is still alive. I'm not even sure if my W204 has a fan clutch, but it's a place to start.

Both my 2009 and 2011 do this as well. Usually only during the summer with the loud fan speed, but I can feel the excessive heat dumping out near the front wheels anytime of the year. I think its normal, I just chalk it up to the fact that these cars are very good at wisking heat away from the engine compartment...

If the water temp is normal then the variable speed electric fan is running when it should.
