Default to S instead of C when start car?

I have a 2011 C300. The transmission setting defaults to C every time I start the car (unlike with, say, a GLK350 where it defaults to whatever the last setting was). Can I change the default setting to S? Or to whatever it was on when the car was turned off? (The manual only says that C is the default setting.)

Can't be done. It is set to E for economy. My old '08 would remember the last setting but the '11 doesn't I ask the SA if they could change it in STAR and was told no.

My C-class kompressor stays in Sports mode whenever i turn the engine off and turn it on again . Regardless of how long it has been turned off.

Maybe it depends on the setting of one's car? I really don't know.. hehe

Isn't C stands for Comfort and S for sports?

C (Comfort) becomes E (Economy) in 2011. In the operation manual, it only says E but doesn't say it represents Economy; it means that.

By the way, I tried E and S but didn't feel much difference, or didn't feel any. I think I need to accelerate more aggressively in order to feel it.

I have not confirmed this, but I believe the default to E varies by market, and in the US, is to comply with federal CAFE requirements to achieve the fuel economy shown on the window sticker.

that is 100% correct sportstick. In 2011 it defaults for emissions, and if you cant feel the difference between E and S u arent barely pressing the accelarator so it doesnt matter. I have a 2011 C350 and my dealer is able to reprogram to stay in S mode, doesnt matter to me cause I have dynamic package so its on the dash and it affects my suspension so its better to select. Get a sprintbooster and ur car will drive like S in E mode, makes a huge difference

Would adding a sprintbooster affect the manuf. warranty?
