COMAND update: Audio loopback when calling handsfree
Ok this is what happened; I brought my 08 c350 into the dealer here in the Netherlands for the A2 service. All went well they said! Except the desk lady casually mentioned that when they did the COMAND update the system crashed...but they were able to reset it! "Uhm, ok. So it is working now? The update is completed?" Well apparently the dealer had trouble doing the update because it is a 'US MB'. Of course I was sceptic and checked the COMAND out menu by menu. All seemed ok, until I was driving home and I got a call on my cell via the COMAND. I apparently was hardly readable, and echoed like crazy. Of course I did a 180-backtrack to the dealer. The next day they reset the Bluetooth module and "tested" it. But when I came to pick up my car, still nothing but echo and it sounds like you are calling from a small bathroom.
The echo starts when you speak for more then approx 5 seconds at a time. So short confirmations are ok...
Who here has had the same happen? And who knows what firmware and software versions they are running on their COMAND?
My phone is a IPhone 3GS with software 4.3.3 btw
Thanks!
Fingers crossed that it goes well. They asked for 2-3 hours.
Wednesday the car will go back into the shop, and the MB tech is taking another swing at it. Keeping the proverbial fingers crossed...
