Smoked or Clear side marker?

I have a White C300 4Matic, I will be installing a CF trunk spoiler, strip tinting my tail lights, so now i'm thinking should I go for the Smoked side marker to go with those or just a Clear side marker. any suggestions?

Don't know,... I just use the DOT-mandated color.

white is the only color I think u can go clear with, it looks good. Any other color I prefer color match to the car, i think white looks good color matched too, more aggressive. Check out mixedfruits pics of his color match white, i like it

Match the headlights. If you smoke the headlights, buy smoked markers. If you don't, buy the clear markers.

if you're good with wrapping go for it. Another way to do it is to plasti-dip like some of the other forum members have done. I'm having the dilemma for the markers myself. Its between clear smoked or color match. Got a 2011 with factory black housing so clear looks weird with it.

I'm having the same dilemma.... my C is palladium silver and i've had it less than a week. I've looked for pics to get ideas but didn't find many Cs with smoked or clear side markers in palladium silver.

I ordered a pair of smoked lenses with the silver bulbs that illuminate orange from eBay. I plan to tint the windows, tint the tails and install the 2010+ W204 side mirrors which have a smoked look to the lens so I think the smoked side markers will look good... eventually.

But, I am having mixed feelings because until those mods are complete I feel that the clear would look better with the stock headlamps and mirrors.

I don't want to go painted because I work on a Military Installation and the MPs, whether at the gate or on partrol, are relentless.

Ahh... so many important decisions. I guess i'll just have to get on the mods ASAP

Oh, to the OP... I think the clear lens looks the best on White, especially if you are going for a clean look. I think the smoke will be nearly as noticeable as the orange.

Are side markers MANDATORY in all states? My white 2010 C300 doesn't have them as they are not required. Looks nice. Is there a flat white translucent marker that lies flush with the wheel flare available?

I have a palladium silver with smoked markers. You can see a couple blurry iphone pics in my "garage" link. I meant to take some nicer pics after my trunk lid spoiler arrived but haven't gotten around to it. Although it doesn't quite match the clear headlights, I do think it matches the body color well, and I'm happy with my decision.

Installed the smoked lenses this weekend after Hurricane Irene came through... pretty happy with them. Now, if I could only get them for the wifes R350...
