3 east coast states later and B service has always cost about $500+ bucks to do; never any more than $600. Comparing East Coast service to West Coast will not be a fair comparison. You have to compare apples to apples.

Getting my Service B done next week. Originally quoted $565 just like the OP, but I am bringing my own oil filter kit, air filter, and cabin air filter which I bought through autohausaz.com . I asked the stealership to re-quote with the cost of parts taken out, and it is now $136! Hopefully that's all I'll be paying in the end...

Good idea. Never thought of doing that. How much did those parts each cost?

Your dealership needed your car for 2 days to do a Service B?!
I paid $550 for my Service B (no discounts), and passed on the wiper blades as I already replaced them a couple months ago and also passed on the cabin air filter which saved me approximately $180 altogether. They didn't change the engine air filter as I had K&Ns installed, so that saved me a few extra dollars as well.

Again, I'll confirm my final bill next week and we can use that as a basis for comparison.

Apparently yes. Not that unbelievable actually, service is any stealership's bread and butter. It's also clear that there are plenty of MB owners who will pay that no questions asked.

Thanks I'll be interested to hear how it comes out. I think they'll say they somehow do something more if they supply the parts. Ask them about it and see what they say. They may backtrack and say they misquoted themselves and charge more for all the the things they'll do.
