Sparco/Recaro Seats orange county members help please!
Hey guys, I'm looking for a reclining seat and I've narrowed it down to 2 seats- Recaro Speed S and the Sparco Torino 2, was wondering if anyone has had experience with those and if anyone knows where to get them installed/ordered for a good price? any help is appreciated, thanks!

Do our tame C300s really warrant spending the money to buy a Sparco or Recaro racing seat? If it were a C63, I'd totally get it.
Of course it's your car and your money and you can do with it as you please

I personally wouldn't change out the seats as you'd probably throw codes since you'd have to unplug the sensors under the seat. That means airbag sensor is gone from the seat portion.
If your set on getting a racing seat then some things you need to know before you commit.
A) Those seats are base mounted so unless you know of a distributor/manufacturer that specifically produces a base bracket/slider for the w204 then getting them made is going to be a hassle. Wedge Engineering is where I tell my customers to go since they either have it already custom made or they can make it according to chassis seat bolt pattern dimensions.
B) Safety. Actually this should have been #1 on the list as you will lose your seat airbag sensors and this should throw codes on your dash. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
C) Cost. Price of just 1 of those seats are nearing $1000. I could list much better ways to put that money to use if all your using the seats for are style.

you can install them you just need t have your dealer bypass the SRS sensors after you have them in stalled, I've seen recaro, bride, abd sparco seats installed on our w204's. look up "got_tang" & "Envy something?" they have done it. I was also going to switch out my seats, I have a set of Bride Gias low max seats from my previous 350z. they don't sell the mounting brackets for a w204 so you would have to get it custom made, a simple X-bracket 1" of the floor would be more than adequate if you already had the sliders for the seats. just make sure that the seats that you want fit inside the car, because a lot of those racing seats are wide around the shoulder area. and I will say sparco seats are very comfortable and so are bride, I've never used Recaro though for a long length of time.

Yes, it is possible to physically attach them to the car, but at quite some risk. First, bypassing or somehow disconnecting the OCS sensors can result in airbag deployment that is not well matched to the occupant or circumstances.
Secondly, the design of a seat mount and seat frame are part of an overall system for impact management, interacting with the floor pan. MB has been a leader in seat technology in crash. If the newly installed seat does not meet the very same capabilities of the original in the mount and frame, the possible disastrous outcomes of seat back failure or seat frame fracture can be devastating. If it hasn't happened to anyone with an aftermarket seat yet, they are quite fortunate. But, I've seen cases of quadraplegia or fatalities in rear impacts when bodies were flung rearward into rear seatbacks and rear glass, suddenly impacting heads and compressing spines.
It's not worth it.
