the meistershaft SR pipes dont need to be welded, a regular xpipe does need to be welded. Putting the mufflers back on will help reduce the drone and the vibrations. Like I said the best sound IMO is performance mufflers and leave the resonator on, gives nice growl and inside isnt affected barely at all if any. The resonator does 60% of the noise reduction if not more, the mufflers dont do as much

im officially slapping back on my mufflers. I've actually grown accustomed to the drone but after being the driver for lunch with my co-workers, I realized noone will be able to sit in my car (which might not be a bad thing but then taking my mom on her errands comes to mind). Funny thing is my sister dropped by to visit today and was trying to convince me to keep it cus she loved the sound haha.

18 for city and 25 mile for highway. you are not losing much, but incrementaly it does add up with the high gas price. if the sound you like to acheive is worth it then stick to it.

WTF... I would check your tires for proper air inflation and some other crap, that is just terrible. I can drive my car around the city FULL out aggressively (red light racing full WOT at EVERY stop light, and still not get 15mpg. The lowest I have gotten in 17mpg. And when I drive "normally" I get about 20mpg city. On the highway I mainly use cruise control and get like 28-30mpg, but when I drive with my light foot I get about 25-27mpg. And I have a c300 4matic...
I think Mixfruit got exhaust mods that would calculate for his little drop in MPG. I am not sure but maybe he can tell you if he does or not.

so i noticed on cold start ups theres a noticeable amount of debris coming out from my exhaust. is it because i no longer have a resonator?

I have an x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers, and I totally agree with everything you've said, bringtherain. I LOVE the sound outside, but the in-cabin noise is unbearable (at some RPMs). NOTE: Unbearable might be an exaggeration. It embarrasses me to have guests that are not car enthusiasts in the car even if they don't mind it.
I was going to put my mufflers back on, but unfortunately, I was missing the hanger with the 2 rubber pieces for my left muffler. If anybody has one, I'd love to buy it just in case I ever need it. That very same day, I was talking with a few buddies, and they said keep the mufflers on and dynomat the trunk. So with some help, I had my trunk dynomatted the same day.
I was somewhat disappointed, because the in-cabin noise was more-or-less the same. It might have been slightly quieter, but not enough to amaze me. I haven't driven a lot since I had my trunk dynomatted two weeks ago. College keeps me off the road and in the study room.
