Hello.... My first run at a Benz

I've been a VAG owner since i've been driving and decided to take the plunge into the "STAR" world. This is my first Mercedes and so far am loving every minute of it! About 1 month ago I sold my '05 Passat TDi Wagon and bought an 09 C350 4Matic. It doesn't have the fuel economy of the TDi but man is it fun to drive!

Here is my old wagon......

Here is the c350 a few days after I got it. Only mods done then was de-bagged, blacked out rear emblem, smoked headlights, fogs and middle of tails.....

now, after 1 month, i've added,

- H&R Sport springs
- smoked side markers
- Matte black vinyl widow trim, fog lights, and licence plate trim
- Matte black replacement grill
- C63 Carbon Fiber front lip spoiler
- Carbon fiber roof spoiler
- Carbon fiber "big fin" rear diffuser
- Magnaflow X-Pipe
- Full LED interior/exterior bulbs
- Full 3M bumper, hood, fenders (thanks Jeff)
- Weather tech mats and cargo liner
- DVD headrest and "video-in-motion" being installed next week
- Matte Black powdercoat OEM AMG wheels and Hakk 7's for winter

- 19" Raderwerks RS8 matte black wheels just arrived but will wait for spring to install.

Here's to many years of learning and sharing mercedes stuff!

Product is called ricochet, I believe it's a 3M line. Light smoked. Pre-cut kit for front. Fogs and tails were custom cut.

Another VAG -> MB story. . We should start a new thread to see what the VAG selection was pre MB. I know Derspeed will chime in if we did.

As for the H&R Sports... it looks lower than I would've thought since most opt to go with Supersports. Wonder if it's because you're on an incline? Can you post a side pic on the street/level ground? How many fingers of gap?

Welcome, btw!!

Doanster, it sits the same on flat ground. I forgot to mention i also changed the rear spring seat bushing to the MB 5mm one....... mine is the 4matic so no supersport option. I wish there was cause i'd love to be lower!

FAneek - those are pure sex! thanks!

made by xpel. I just bought it at a local shop that installs 3M / xpel hood protection and tint. any shop that installs should have this.

link for xpel's site mine is the "light smoked". they pre-cut the headlights for me and then I bought extra material for the fogs, mirrors, and taillights and installed it at home...... easy peezy

Sweet car, well done - I like how you "dulled out" all the background in the pics and left the car popping out with that nice red paint...really nice.

IMO, it looks better with the wheels as is, not feeling the photochop of them in black on your car...kinda cheapens it a little, they look dirty with that finish - maybe it is just the dull finish, go the FAneek route and put a little sheen to them possibly?

Nice work by one who knows what they're doing. VAG -> VAG -> MB here.

?) how much F/R drop with H&R & 5mm spacer @ rear ? what was oem spacer 't' ?

General Q: what interferes on 4MATIC with lower drop springs?

.

they say 1.2F and 1.2"R + the 5mm spacer from the stock 18mm spacers give an added 13mm drop in rear......

I don't know what interferes, but the super sport springs are not listed for the 4m's so they must know what they are talking about.

What did you smoke your headlights with? How much did it cost?

I recently finished tinting my car, including the windshield, and was wondering if I should ask the tint shop to do the headlights. I figured it wouldn't hold up too well though and the guy charges up the rear...
