Left SRS MALFUNCTION SERVICE
ah ha!
I had this same exact problem and message...
took it into the dealer last week, the replaced the drivers seat belt buckle under warranty... I have an '08 as well...
looks like the seat belt buckles locking mechanism wears out after a while and triggers the sensor...
you have the exact same error message and issue I had, I can get you the part number replaced when I go home tonight and check my invoice...

I read this post a few months back. I finally joined forum because I am now having another common C300 issue. But wanted to let you all know this is possible to do on your own. I bought the buckle from MB and I agree w/ the other person that said getting the wire disconnect is a HUGE pain!! I have friends in the B/S that helped me and he had this little metal tooth pick looking thing... look like a dentists tool lol however the SRS light does have to be reset some B/S can do this or most mechanics can do this! So save yourself if you can!!!

Where to buy the buckle?
I had the same ting on my 08 a couple months back and I ordered a new buckle from (http://www.mbzwholesaleparts.com/) they are an actual dealership that does online sales and their prices are really good. It is very simple to replace, but you need Torx sockets and drivers, I dont remember the sizes but I just bought the whole Torx set @ Harbor Freight for like 15.00 or something. You move your seat all the way forward to remove the two bolts on the rail, then move your seat all the way backwards and remove the two bolts on the rail. Now you manually pull the seat forward about 5-6 inches then tip the seat onto the rear seats. Now you can access the wiring harness. The connector for the seat belt is yellow and has two pins on the inside, I believe it is the middle connector in the harness array, it is a PITA to deal with. Once that is done snip a couple zip ties and then jump in the back seat from the passenger's side and unbolt the seat belt buckle. Now reverse everything you did and get it back together. The light will still be on, so you need to find a buddy with an OBDii scanner/Star and reset the code. Now you are all done.
Hey sorry to bring this back, but the buckle you bought from that site (www.mbzwholesaleparts.com) was it the same as factory? And how long did it take. Skeptical about the website, don't want to buy something that would go bad in a week or so.

Just bought drivers side buckle
I just purchased from http://www.mbzwholesaleparts.com/.
They are an MB dealer in Medford, OR. The site says Genuine MB Parts from the Dealer (wholesale parts division). You can call them directly if you feel the need to. The Drivers Side Buckle was around sixty bucks. Another fifteen for shipping. Should be an easy fix.

My car does this when it's cold. Once the car warms up the light goes off. I'll check seatbelts and see if it fixes it. I tried to take it to the dealer but by the time I get there the car has fixed itself.... :unamused:

C300 SRS Control Unit Warning
Are everyone else still having problems with this srs unit belt buckle issue? Please let me know as I have an ongoing battle with Mercedes Benz regarding this and their refusal to acknowledge the issue... Please contact me at twistedesoterix@gmail.com I would like to know how many times have you had your vehicle repaired for this issue and if it resolves it or does the warning light still comes on. Have you paid, out of pocket, for the repair or was it taken care of under warranty.
Let's have them take care of this issue. As consumers, I feel that they should recognize and resolve the issue. Hopefully, if we can prove that it is not an isolated event, then we can make them pay attention.

Took my car to the dealer for Air Bag Control Unit recall over the weekend and they also found a problem with the srs unit belt buckle (stored code found in the system?) They were going to charge me "discounted price" $390 for parts and labor...told em im not paying for that. The dealer called MBUSA and replaced it for free.

Sounds like everyone covered the issue, but just to add my .02
I have a 2008
Same thing happened to me after I bought my vehicle, I had just detailed the whole car and moved the seat forward as far as it would go. I also might've knelt on the seat which can damage or mess up the seat sensor?
I brought it back to the dealer, he reset the SRS (which is different then the OBDII tool).
The alert came back on my drive home, which was frustrating. But next time I started the car, hasn't been on for 5 months.
