2008 C350 Reliability?

New to the forum and to MB - been a BMW guy for last decade. I've decided on picking up an '08 C350 ( Nav, Pano, Leather, 18" AMG ), and am curious what you all think about the car's reliability. It seems like I was always either taking my BMW into the shop for little things and don't want to deal with those types of issues any longer - nor do I want a money pit for large issues either.

Any and all feedback is welcomed and much appreciated.

Scott

Scott,
Welcome! I have a 2008 C350 and I just clicked over 107,000 miles. I just had my first "major" out of pocket expense repair which was a blown right rear light circuit board. Lost all my right rear lights, and it was like 300 bucks to replace with parts and labor. My head rest on the drivers side is floppy, but doesn't bother me that much. In the first six months or so, my sunroof had to be re-synchronized twice, and my Sirius receiver in the trunk had to be replaced. Other than that just routine A&B services, pretty reliable car. Still running on factory brakes, but they will need to be replaced at next A service. I go through a set of tires about every 40 to 45,000 miles. That's a blower, but whatever. Love my car.

So you are saying that you got 107K miles out of the original factory brake pads?

Well, I would imagine that if he has 107k miles already, he drives a ton of highway miles. And if he didn't hit much traffic, then he would probably rarely use his brakes.

I have an early built 2008

only 26000 miles

been to the shop litterally 20-25 times in 4 years

only for minor things have you, no major issues...

but TONS of minor BS you have to deal with having this car...

I am pickier than most, but I have stacks and stacks of warranty invoices from stuff I noticed was wrong and the dealer agreed and fixed/replaced...

finally got the car working properly, and I still love it.. but there is just a ton of BS you have to deal with along the way if you are picky

I do drive highway miles, but I have also found that in cases in which I just have to slow down a little bit, or I have enough notice like speed limit changes, I just use the down flick on the cruise stalk to slow me instead of the brakes. Of course if you flick it down enough it will use the brakes but for 5 or sometimes even 10, it will just "coast" you down.

C350 Experience

Our 2008 C350 is --- by far -- the best car we've ever owned out of two dozen over the years, including Lexus and Audi. No rattles, squeaks, leaks, zero issues. Lease is up so we're getting a 2012 C350.

I have a 2008 C350 that has 27,000 miles. The only problem was sunroof sync and sirous antenna replaced. After an Audi s4, porsche carrera, cadillac cts-v, this has been the best.
