new wheels, new pictures

Posted 1 picture before in the picture thread as well as 1 on the mbjunkies forum. Washed the car along with my buddy for the meet tomorrow down in Santa Cruz. Hope you enjoy fellow W204 members

May get 5-10mm spacers for the back. Undecided right now but the front does stick out more. And I know I need to go more lower in the front. Working on it

I took out the spindle in the back to get lower as well. Low but not this low. There's 3 people in the back. I WISH though

My friends Accord.

Little brother's car.

First off... car looks great, no doubt about it.
I do have an honest question about the wheels though. Going with such wide wheels along with tires that dont reach the edges, are there ever any issues/concerns with the bead of the tire not holding? The first pic clearly shows what I'm referring to. There's space between the edge of the wheel and the bead of the tire. I always thought the bead needed to go to the edge of the wheel to make a good seal, hence my question.
I assume you couldn't go with wider tires due to rubbing issues? The Accord's front wheels are fine, but the rears seem to have the same poke. Running this setup would make me paraonoid to no end regarding curb rashes. Even my 235/35/19 tires provide some semblance of rim protection because they reach the edges of my wheels.

Thanks for the compliment. I understand your concern about the bead of the tire. Some people don't approve of this method aka "tire stretching". I know plenty of people who has done it and theirs have a lot more stretching to them. My friend's Accord has had his set up for a little more than 6 months and so far its been holding up. His set up is 215/40 on 9.5" wide wheels. I'm running 225/40 on a 10". I may be able to go with 235/35 and it might have a slight rub but rolling/shaving my fenders could help a little. I do tend to get paranoid about the curb rashes as well but I drive slow. Low and slow

I understand my set up isn't gonna get the approvals of most of the members here. Just as how Kendrick put on his green wheels. Yes, I understand my set is a little different from his situation and that mine could screw up the dimensions, scrub radius and what not. And that his is just a cosmetic thing. I get it, can't please everyone but I love it. I always go by the saying, to each his own and this is my own. Keep modding people

Honestly, the tire doesn't even need to be stretched here. It needs about a 15-20mm spacer now to make it right, or a non stretched tire. Remember, stretch what you need, not what you want. Wheels do look good, but the rear is def sunk in and needs to be pushed out.

Thanks hotel. Initially the tires were just a test fitment but wanted to go lower which I did so i kept them. I am getting spacers but still deciding on 5mm or 10mm. Gonna take some measurements and see how much I can and if you are correct, 15-20mm then I might even reverse mount the rears.

Definitely wasn't dissing you or not approving. Not my place nor should anyone here worry about whether people approve or not.
Truly was an open question for you/others regarding whether the bead would be compromised, say, after hard cornering, etc. I've seen old school VW guys run wide 15" wheels with super stretched tires, but the bead always went to the edge.

Anyhoo, nice job overall once again. If you are interested in some CF mirror vinyl overlays, PM me. I have one set left from the batch I made up a few months ago. Search for the old thread for pics.

PS as for Kendrick, poor kid can't catch a break over at e90post either; so many angry people out there

Thanks a lot Doanster. I will probably take your offer on those CF mirror overlays. I had some previously but I didn't stick them on well enough and it started peeling off on the corner so I took them off completely.

I know you weren't dissing. Just commenting that I know tire stretching is pretty dumb if it gets too excessive. I know where to draw the line. As much as I like hard cornering, I'm also into the "stance" scene which what I'm going for. Now if I had an AMG then that is a different story.

Anyways, let's get back to the topic. Going to get some measurements tomorrow and I'll mod from there. Any forms of comments are welcome, whether its good or bad

looks good loonie, im not a big fan of bbs but im diggin the step lip style on those wheels. its the camber out back that makes the front look more out than they really are, i think a small spacer prob 5mm maybe 10mm but I dont think 10 will go by lookin at the pics. U could also add a little meat to the rubber out back to help. Take a 2 foot level and throw 3 guys in the back and measure ur clearance at the fender lip, thats how much room u got to work with. rollin the fenders in these cars give u almost nothing, they are 1/4 fender lips, thats what u gain........looks good

Thanks Frank. They were originally 5x114.3 but I had them redrilled to 5x112. Initially I just wanted to use wobble bolts but then I figured if I needed spacers, wobble bolts wouldn't work.

looks good dude, LM's are one of my favorite wheels. I had 3 people in my back seat and a 100lb suitcase in my trunk last week, it was even lower than your pic lol wish we could go that low without issues, I was rubbing so bad.

Looks good, I don't think you even need spacers.
I would be totally paranoid of potholes and speed bumps.

Personally, I think this stretched out tire look is ghetto. But if you like it, that's all that matters!

The guy sitting on the Passat looks like he's about to start jerking off looking at your shiny ride.

Thanks nunez! Only options I see for us to go lower are cut springs (no thanks), bc racing coilover with shorter spring option (heard they go lower than H&R) or air suspeion ($$$$$). What's going on with those AMG wheels you painted?

Thanks but I don't like the fact the rear is sunk in more than the front so spacers it is. Yea I'm afraid of hitting a big pothole when I do drive but I slow like an old person so I have no problems avoiding things

Thanks bro. To each his own hahaha I'm sure wax is still a better product than what he's producing.

Exactly what I was thinking. Little here and there then I'm on to the next stage, whatever that is.

It's a whole catback exhaust by Meisterschaft. I got an excellent deal on mines on ebay. The shop were having a liquidation and I got it for more than 50% which reduced it to about a little more than 1k. Original price is for this QUAD set up is about 2.2k. Here's the link to the one of the distributor:

http://gthaus.com/ver3_main.php

Here's a short video we found of the meet. You'll see me around 0:50 behind my friends Accord.

yeaaaa its impossible to get real low with these cars without sacrificing money or reliability. and I think you have me mistaken for someone else I dont have AMG wheels. I have 19" petrol's.
