ECU upgrades
Hi all, I'm not really familiar with the ECU upgrades and was wondering if any of you guys can help me on out giving some ideas on brands and pricing on the market out there for ECU chips. Which brand do you guys prefer or have used on your C300's. Thanks in advance for the help!

On the C300 they're more or less useless, as the performance-gain will be very low and not noticeable...
If you had a turbo-charged enginge, the gain would be a lot greater...

I'm running a PowerChip remapping on my ECU and couldn't be more pleased considering I went from 522 RWHP to stock C300 Sport. The PowerChip tune has made a hell of a lot of difference. I also got the Premium 93 octane tune. Not everyone gets 93 octane though. The left coast only has 91.

As most have said, you'll get negligible gains and the price/power ratio is really out of whack with these N/A engines. I've got a Speed Innovation tune on mine, but Powerchip, Singh, and Kleemann are the more popular brands for tunes on our platform.

thats one thing I dont get w these cars. How come nobody has a simple belt driven blower setup. The only tricky part is getting to the intake, its in a weird spot. Other than that theres plenty of room in the engine bay to play with. My buddy has a 350z that he did turbo kit on and that bay is stuffed before the addition of the turbos. The older kompressor models had more tuning ability w 2.3 engines than these 350s do. The 5.5 amgs w the superchargers were monsters w the right additions to hardware and software, I dont get why things r so limited w these cars. Theres 100 diff tunes/combos out for a 335i tho......sucks

Speaking of horsepower adders.....
If one was to offer Turbo or Supercharger kits for these cars (C300, and C350), what would you guys be willing to pay for a complete bolt on kit?
(Tuning for the kit would be seperate of course)
Just curious.

There was a kit that was offered once, but was a remote turbo. No one bit. Although now we're getting close to end of warranty period for early w204 adopters so you might see more adventurous sorts pop out.

Does anyone know if the new C250 is tunable? Being a turbo engine a tune could potentially take that car to the power level of the pre-refresh C350 with more torque!
I traded my C350 four months ago on a new VW GTI w/ DSG. I missed my C until I got the APR stage one tune and now get 254hp and 303 tq!!! My GTI would run circles around the C. A new C250 coupe with a proper ECU chip would be fun as hell! Any word on who is working on a tune?

I'm sure Kleemann will be doing that. Brabus should jump on the wagon too since a turbo is so much easier to make good power from than an NA engine since they undertune everything from the factory. I have thought about getting a nice used GTI or even a CC with the 2.0T TSI motor in it and dumping right into the APR stage III set up because it's so dependable and easy to do. Tuning options for our cars are so much of a disappointment but the styling is what is keeping me in my benz. Otherwise I would be driving another Bimmer.
