Just a crazy idea but ... Has any one tried to put a 2012 W204 Rear Tail Light Assembly on a 2008-2011 W204 ???

It has been done on a C63 but it should be the same process. It is a direct plug and play but when you do install them your fog lights appear to stay on all the time looking like the brake are on all the time. The thread is in the AMG C63 section. They have figured out how to fix it but you have to have someone with the STAR/SAM machine (not too sure) to decode it. Here's the link to it.

I finally have a price quote from www.MBenznl.nl for a pair of 2012 tail light assemblies for my 2008. These would be the euro version with yellow LED turn lights which I want.

The rear SAM will have to be reprogrammed and there is someone here locally who can do it.

400-425 Euros including shipping to my front door. 2-3 weeks shipping time.

i will be getting mine soon as well but not the yellow led i like the red better, i got rear ended so im gething the 2012 tail lights and bumper. fitment is the same

I won't argue taste, but for someone who got rear-ended recently and might be thinking about these things, thought you would be interested to know that there is good data about the improved perception and reaction times following drivers have when confronted with an amber signal than with a red one. Just FYI.
