0-60 in 3.1 secs (anyone else?)
My son bought this CBR600F4i this weekend - only a 600, but holy Christ is it rediculously quick. I have been riding most of my adult life, but a majority of the time with a V-Twin between my legs...
Anyone else riding one of these "chainsaws" in their spare time?

Yes it does....cannot imagine what that feels like in a car.
However, the Mercedes SLR McLaren, SLS AMG, Callaway C16 or Z06 Corvettes, Porsche 918 Spyder, Porsche 911 turbo, Ferarri 360, Ferrari 430, Saleen S7, Viper SRT10, Audi R8 to name a few supercars........Do Not. Thats the mind blowing part for me...As stated, it is only a 600 - while the 0-60 and even 1/4 mile times are not too far apart from the bigger Superbikes, I cannot imagine what an 1100 must feel like to ride.

So sad that part of your manhood had to suffer to get married and buy your wife a nice ring. I'm sure it was well worth it. Just sad that we have to do this as men.

Man that is a Beautiful bike, must have been some ring...congrats...
My last bike did not make the final cut when purchasing our new home, similiar story to an extent I guess...After my son's purchase though, it is safe to say that he will need a "riding partner" which opens the window for me to start shopping again...no clue what I would go with at this point, have to admit, the superbike thing is pretty a fun way to satisfy a need for speed...
Alexis - badass machine also, love the dual exhaust - really nice...

If you think that f4i is fast, new 600's are lighter and more powerfull. I use to have an r6.. sad to say its gone. Theres just no comparison with the quickness and speed of a bike to a car. Its truly amazing.

Lucky for me i did not have to give up mine for the ring. She doesnt like it because its not safe but she will never stop me from doing what i like.
Yes, F4i is nice, newer are even more amazing. My first was 86 GSXR750. Old but still could hold its ground. Now is a 98 VTR1000 and still not as fast at the 4i only 3.4 on 0-60.

I can only imagine what is out there bigigg, I am sure there are dozens of faster bikes than this 600, but I rode it this past Sunday and it was the first time in quite awhile on was on something powered by other than a V twin motor - and from 8 to 15K rpm's (just starting to hit the redline at 15k ??? wtf?) it was an intense rush to say the least !
There seems to be a fairly young crowd on here, so I figured some of you guys were into riding this type of motorcycle more so than the, ahem, older guys like myself...But if I do say so myself, I shredded the the street on this thing pretty hard haha

My 03' modded GSXR 1000 (203hp) is an absolute beast. My Z can beat 600's on 91 octane (~500rwhp), on Q16 (614rwhp) it is not even a race, but going up against my 1000, there is never a time that the Z is even in the same zip. I would gladly accept a race between a gtr or porsche (or any other production car, minus a Veyron), the outcome will definetly not be in the favor of 4 wheels until aerodynamics becomes the issue, but by that point, there is at least 2 area codes between us and some substantial ground to be made up by the car. I have not seen a car under 750rwhp be able to hold off too many 1 liter bikes.

No worries, I was mostly done with the Sport Bike thing and am looking toward my next.
Thinking about the Ducati Diavel.

I gave up my 2003 Kawi ZZR 600 in 2007 before my first son was born. Very similar power to that CBR. I loved riding but too much risk while having young kids that need me. Nothing beats the power of an inline 4 bike, the new ones are insane! I think Kawi has a 1400cc sport bike now...damn. Maybe I'm getting old but I like a little more between me and the pavement when I'm driving in triple digits. 130mph on a sport bike is a rush though!
