damage to undercover/body due to flat tire
I had a pretty strange situation over the weekend.
Seems like a large screw (about 4") was stuck on the inner
side of my rear left tire (245 17" rim). Seconds after I heard
a scrapping sound by the time I stopped the tire pressure alarm
was also going off.
Apparently, approx 2" of the screw was still protrubing and as the tire
was still running (it did take me few seconds to come to a halt),
it cut through the underbody cover that feels like a sound/water
protector.
Thankfully it didn't run through any metal surfaces but it did cut
the cover.
Does anyone know what that cover is called? or even better
how can I find the part no for that cover? Looking at it it seems
is mounted with screws and also seems easily removable/replaceable.
any pointers or information on what it's called so that i can look around
for replacement would be appreciated.
L.
