250CDI Upgrades
Hi All,
I am a new (well soon to be car is being built at the moment) C250 CDI owner in Australia.
I have purchased it with the AMG, Vision and Driver Safety package in Magnetite black with a panoramic roof and alpaca grey leather interior.
Looking forward to it being delivered some time in January 2012.
My question is I have seen on eBay and other websites upgrade kits (like a chip or something for this car) to conver it from 150KW to around 195KW. They appear to range in price from a few hundred dollars to several hundreds and into the thousands.
For those that have purchased an upgrade to this car, what do you recommend? Last thing I want to buy is some untried, unknown upgrade that will damage my new car.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

LOL I'm just like you- but I'm currently holding out until the car is out of warranty. MB may be back on track to achieving good quality control, but for the time being whilst I'm on corporate pack/warranty, I'll hold off on modifying anything too serious

Thanks Jace.
Have you seen any chips / upgrades that you can do ? Just keen. Coming from a modified Ford FPV so looking at at least a chip or tune to start me off

Local shops here aren't as plentiful/skilled as in America (or so I'm led to believe) and tuning isn't as cheap here due to the reduced popularity and hence much less number of tuners.

What Piggyback have you seen / recommend?
Yes that was my concern coming from a tuned Ford F6 310 (320kw at the wheels) but going from 20L / 100kms to 5.1 I am looking for. I think maybe a chip or tune will give it a bit of difference. I know there is a place in Melbourne that do the Brabus stuff but it was around the 3k mark with a new intercooler.. just a chip / tune is good enough for me.. Keen to know any links to anything i can do some research on..

try www.racechip.com
Diesel engines have been know to have more gains than their petrol counterparts.
But there are also comments on more black soot and such.
Good luck in your search.

had the car on the dyno today. everything was stock except for my quad exhaust.
It pulled 149HP and 240N torque.
Will install the RaceChip in next week and run it again.
Will keep you posted if it works
