HELP with HID install please
I just put in the new HID kit I got, but have a few questions/concerns.
1. I put in the right side just fine and when I went to the left and got it in and plug it all back together, it then gave me the 'check left low lamp' message. I went to run an errand in a diff car, came back started it up again and the message doesn't show up now.
2. This is what my new HID lights look like on the wall in my garage. Is this cutoff right? It seems off to me...

Please let me know. Thanks.

I figured it out, just had to turn the bulb. Now the only question I have is the Hid on the left looks a little yellower than the one on the right. Bad bulb? The way I put it in?

What kind of HID kit did you buy? The variation between the bulbs makes me think they're junk. Could just be a bad bulb though.
The fact that you got the error was either a fluke, or more likely, it means again that they're junk and the error canceling built into them isn't very good and will cause occasional (VERY annoying) errors to be thrown / bulb to turn off.

I got aznoptics 5k kit. I thought by paying for his would save me from this but it seems that it is in fact different. I am not happy at all.
After a few dozen turn on over a couple hours there still has been no additional error warning. *fingers crossed*

I'll take another pic later to see if you can see the color diff if you can't in that pic. I'm hoping it will just go away on its own.

Power cycling like you did should have reengaged the check bulb and found proper install this no more error. If an error does pop up, let me know though. As for bulbs, let it break in for a week and see if they settle. If not, you might have a bad bulb which of course we can warranty. We perform QA testing, but like all things manufactured, there will occasionally be flawed units. That's what warranty's for though.

Good to see that you got these installed. The cutoff will never look proper because our housing wasn't meant for that type of bulb. But to me how many times am I going to be driving in front of a wall to check that out. Like Mike said let the bulbs break in a little and the color should match.

Thanks for the responses.
1. After a few more cycles and a few trips around the block, the color does look a little closer now. But I had another bulb out message pop up the last go around. I stoped, turned off the car and then restarted it and it was fine and turned on again...I hope this isn't going to happen every so often.
2. Here is what it looks like now...the cutoff is correct. But I have a question. How do I change or move these dark spots? Because they are uneven and I can see it a little (on the left one) on the road when I drive as a little dark spot. I know it involves turning the bulb but I can turn it anymore because the plastic tab on the bulb is locked in between those 2 medal pieces (holders). Do yours look like this? or does the tab not need to go in between those medal prongs just undo the bulb and more it out of it?

I'm not sure about the black spots, but based on my experiences I'll bet you're going to continue to see the occasional bulb out warning. Does the HID actually turn off or flicker when you get the warning?

It flickered for the first time on the last run I did. The bulb didnt go out and it stopped, but on the way back around the block it did go out without flicker.

Check your connections also and make sure you're making good contact. Flaky connections can sometimes cause bulb out errors to intermittently pop up. It should say which bulb is out though in the error message right? If so, try swapping left and right ballasts to see if the issue follows the ballast to make sure we identify if you do indeed have a faulty ballast.

But as far as the black or unlit spots are...am I the only one to have this in their light pattern?
How did you fix this? Is it because I put the plastic tab on the outer rim of the bulb in between the 2 medal slot holders for the bulb. I would take then out and turn it but I didn't want my pattern to become messed up (like in the first pic) again as I feel it is properly being held like what the tab is ment for.
Thanks for all your help!

You'll have to live with the dark spots. I had DDM HIDs in first, and now I have AZN_Optics HIDs in. Both had dark spots on both sides, but only the left one was visible on the road.

Shoot an email to me at aznoptics@gmail.com and include your username, name, address, and specify that you have a flaky ballast to begin the warranty process

I'm hoping for sometime next week depending on holiday and customs delays. I'll have a better idea maybe end of the week or monday after new years.
