^^^ I agree.
Black is more sporty and busines-like than beige.
I will only consider beige if it is a two tone where only the seats and door inserts are beige and everything else is black -- the Designo Porcelain White on the S- and CL-class is like that (but white) and looks very sharp.
Beige interiors (especially the carpets) don't wear or age well in any car.

For me, choosing the color has a lot to do with the model of car itself. I feel like the W204 looks especially nice in white. In comparison, I hated the W203 in white. My 203 was silver and I liked that color a lot, but I think the 204 looks awful in silver.
Black is certainly a pain to keep clean & it will show its age a lot faster with regards to dents scratches and swirl marks.
I think white looks a lot sportier -particularly on the W204. Plus it doesn't show scratches and dents as much.
On the other hand, I think the metallic colors look more "luxury" yet less sporty - hard to put into words. They are also much harder to repair because new paint (be it touch-up paint on a small scratch, or an entirely repainted panel) is very hard to blend.
It's all about your personal preference though!

Glyn, I don't even think the trashy dealer here in NYC had samples like those.
I would have preferred to order my own build, but the transmission on my C240 was acting up (if you recall that lemon of mine was falling apart!) and I wanted to trade it in before it became detectable & required repair on my dime. It would have been minimum $1000 to fix - it was entering limp home mode every other drive due to either a speed sensor issue or worse.
I would have ordered the 2-tone interior and darker wood trim. I'm still very happy with what I have now though.

Great selection and showroom Glyn
Unfortunately here in Australia we do not get access to any of the designo options on any of the C Class variants except for the C63

Thanks, everyone, for your comments / recommendations.
I think I'm leaning forwards magnetite black with ash interior and aluminum trim.
The dealer I've been working with has located one at another dealer, and it's been hard to find one with the specs I want. Apparently there aren't many with the aluminum trim, especially since I want the keyless go.
To be honest, I'm feeling somewhat pressured since there's a $2k incentive going on this month. Otherwise, I might have ordered arctic white with black interior (can't find any in my area with specs I want).
Now all I need to do is negotiate on price!

Hi, folks.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new C250. I've been going back and forth between the coupe and sedan for a while now but have decide to go with the sedan since it's more practical from a space perspective.
My problem is this: I can't for the life of me decide on an exterior color. I've narrowed it down to magnetite black, iridium silver, and white. I'd go with the ash interior on the first two and black interior if I go with white (all aluminum trim).
I really like the magnetite black, but I'm worried it will show dirt and be difficult to keep clean. The dealer I've been working with thinks it will be more difficult to keep clean than blank.
I also like the iridium silver and white a whole bunch, but both seem to be more common (but they still look great). I was thinking of getting the panoramic roof for a nice contrast if I go with either of these two colors.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

best re-sell value is black

That would be market dependent. A black car would not be an easy sale in SA. Silver & white are the easiest to sell used in SA.
