Tire shop wants to rebuild tpms???

I was out getting a price on replacing my front two tires and the tire store pitched replacing the little rubber gasket and air valve for a cost of something like $15 to $18 each.

I've never heard of needing to do this so my question is do you really need to or is this just another way tire shops found to seperate me from some dollars???

I can say the last three times I've changed wheels and tires they have to rebuild them as you say, but not for that much, it's usually 7.50 each AND they normally waive that because I've spent thousands there in the last three months alone......
so yes, it sounds like it's a bit much......but they do need to do it, hope this helps

It's a good practice to replaced the seals every time the tire is replaced, eventually they crack and the tire will have a small leak.
