LOL awesome! The Seasucker! I saw one of these and thought it was a clever idea, but I wouldn't trust my bike to Fresno heat and the Sierra cool where I ride, plus elevation pressure up and down the mountains isn't a good thing for suction cups. But If you needed a quick park and ride, I wouldn't mind owning one of those.
On a side note, I have a brand new Yakima Whispbar set up w/ custom flat black powder coated main bar ( the siver one) I'm selling for $400 + shipping if anyone is interested.

we've been testing the sea sucker for a few weeks up here in Calgary, Canada. Calgary is one of the highest elevated cities in North America. So far no issues with loss of suction. It's been on the car for 5 days at -5C (23F) and i've taken it up to 150km/h (93mph) with no issues. For me, it's a great bike rack because I also have a '84 GLi which I don't want to put a stationary rack on, so this is perfect.

ea cup holds 200lbs of suction so that is 800lbs......your bike is ok! They have a guy "riding" a bike attached to the back window of an suv on their website.......It's strong!

I have the Yakima racks on the way with the #11 bases...how did you remove the plastic covers on the roof that cover the mounting bracket? Without breaking them.

The only hitch available was a class I made by Curt (up to 200lbs, more than enough for my bike rack and bikes). The local hitch installer had a HELL of a time drilling small holes in the inner rear bumper (they ruined like 11 drill bits or something), so be aware of this. It's made of some crazy, German, Schwarzenegger-type of metal. Other than that, it works great!
