Using iPod Integration with Android phone?
I just purchased an '08 C350 with iPod integration, but I use my Droid Bionic as my MP3 player and don't own an iPod. From what I can see, I don't have another Aux. port in the glove box.
If I buy an adapter (this for example) will another mp3 player work? I've searched other threads on this forum but couldn't find any confirmation on this.

I love pretty much everything about my C350 except for the lack of media integration. The iPod cord and charging station in the glove compartment is very inconvenient, and the lack of bluetooth streaming and USB compatibility is also a bit frustrating.

You want to use the iPod Integration Kit for an Android?
You should have a 3.5mm mini jack hidden behind the side dash panel. When you open your passenger door, gently remove the panel. They usually just loop up the aux port and stuff it back there. I have both but I was one of the first to add the iPod adapter.

Now, the panel you're saying to remove, is this on the passenger door or on the dash?

The MB iPod Integration Kit manual states that the Aux cable is disabled as the Integration Kit uses the same analog input bus to feed the Audio 20.
Then there is the charging issue, the newer iPods such as the Nano do not charge with the iPod Integration iPd cable, an adaptor is available on eBay. The current iPod Classic charges just fine however.

I have the 2008 C300 sport with the Command Navigation System and iPod integration kit. Just got a samsung galaxy s4 and want to integrate it with my car.

No "integration", one would have to pull out the iPod Integration Kit and reinstall the minijack that plays through the "Aux". Will be 6 dB too low for bad MB engineering of course.
No control through anywhere, no way to recharge the Galaxy unless you buy a cigarette plug-in charger with ugly cables etc. Change tunes only through the Android OS, dangerous of course defeats the whole purpose of MB "safety". Personally I leave an iPod in the glove box and my Galaxy S4 in my pocket where the Bluetooth phone connection works very well indeed, after several hours of hand-feeding my contacts one by one.

I had the iPod Integration kit in my old 2008 and the mini-jack. Both worked. I did need to unplug the cable from the iPod when using the mini-jack otherwise I would hear both sources playing at the same time.

Yes both cables are analog and use a single Aux analog input in parallel, a typically stupid MB design flaw. Most dealers didnt install the regular Aux cable with the iPod Integration Kit, others hid the cable behind the glovebox.
As for the OP, the cable may or may not work, depending if the dealer left the rest of the Aux jack connected when performing the Ipod Integration Kit install.

Yes, any audio played through aux will sound much quieter than CD, radio or Ipod. I find it annoying whenever I want to blast music, but then again I don't often listen to music at maxed out volumes either, so I can live with it. And I could listen to my music at full volume on Ipod or CD.
I really agree that Mercedes dropped the ball with audio options on my 09 C300...
And if I'm being honest, compared to the competition, I'd say they most certainly fall behind on a lot of other things too.

I hope so, I suppose I'll buy it and give it a shot. I was just hoping someone else had already tried it.

I just bought a 2011 c350 with the same problem. What solution have you come up with?

I bought this to use with my phone, the Viseeo bluetooth adapter:
It works pretty well. Simply plug the VISEEO into the ipod adapter and the VISEEO gets power via the adapter so there's no batteries. Sync your phone to the adapter via Bluetooth. Every time you get into the car it will automatically connect. The only problem is that Android song names and titles probably won't appear on the car dash. Also you probably have to control the music with your phone, not your car buttons. Other than that, it's a pretty great solution.

The Cable Jive samDock is not compatible. According to the manufacturer:
. Unfortunately, we recently learned that allfactory installed Mercedes systems post 2008 uses one of these incompatiblesystems, so our dockBoss products are unable to work with your vehicle’s 30-piniPod connector.
