Multimedia controller nob stopped working...anyone else experience this?

Multimedia controller *** stopped working...anyone else experience this?
So the multimedia controller *** isn't functioning properly all of the sudden. It works when I tilt it up or down, but if you twist it either clockwise or counterclockwise nothing happens. Has anyone experienced this or know what might be wrong with it? I had just brought it in for servicing at a good MB dealership I trust, but I'm afraid maybe the *** got bumped and that messed it up? I'm going to contact the dealer and see if they can take a look at it, but I thought I would see if any one you have experienced this and what sort of repair is in store. My car is only three years old with another two years on warranty, so I know it will be fully covered. It will have to be next week, at the earliest, before I bring it in to the dealer though. Any comments are appreciated.

It is a known issue. I never used mine much, so I just noticed it the other day. Of course my warranty ran out in November 2011. Damn!
The knob/dial can be replaced somewhat easily and it should be covered under warranty.
