Just wondering if this can be done or if anyone has done it. Or is it a lost cause.

You have two choices.
1 - Retrofit COMAND (hint on keywords for search)
2 - Install the Nav20 (also called UMI for Universal Media Interface) (also a hint for keywords)
I did the second. $1600 installed. I'm happy with it.

IMHO, I don't think it's worth it. Try this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...m-writeup.html

Had both and the OEM nav sucks. Sure the flip up screen looks cool but after a while I just left it closed. Now if you do the full HK upgrade the sound difference might be worth it for you.

I ordered my car with MM and other than the slight lack of bass, I am glad I did. The service loaners at my dealer mostly have the cheesy Audio 20 peeking out from under that toilet lid and there is simply no comparison. I'm guessing then even Kia and Hyundai have better standard systems.
Many outraged Audio 20 owners will now be heard from........
