Problem with aftermarket door lock knobs
Hey guys, hopefully someone knows the answer to this. I purchased these aftermarket door lock knobs to replace the crappy plastic "dowel" looking ones that came with the car (2012 C250):

I unscrewed the front door lock knobs and installed the aftermarket knobs without any problems. However, when I went to unscrew the back door knobs they seemed different and didn't unscrew. I ended up pulling the knob off and it appears to be completely different from the "unscrew" type in the front. I have attached a picture of the knob pulled off the car. I'm not sure how to get around this to install the aftermarket screw knob. Any help would really be appreciated!

Sorry mate, my rear door pins were of the 'unscrew' variety, just like the fronts. Looks like yours have splines and are pushed on. Definitely my style of door pins would not work in that setup. I think you will have to investigate a different solution, ie. aftermarket pins with a similar sort of splined, 'push-on' setup.

I just went out and what I did was put a dab of superglue inside the aftermarket lock pin, then put the rubber piece in the aftermarket pin, then I pushed it on the ball/socket pin sticking up from the door. I pushed until I heard a pop and it's now almost flush with the door panel (same as the front) and the door seems to lock and unlock fine. I was worried about pushing too hard but read another thread on MBworld where someone says they pushed hard enough and it popped into place without breaking anything. I was hesitant because I had heard of people breaking something before but mine seems to be fine. So it appears to have worked for now.
