I saw a ton of listings on ebay. Now I cant find any... did Spyder pull all these vendors listings? and if so how can they be unauthorized when they were able to get the product.. (and willing to sell at a lower price per 1 pc).

I just hope Spyder can give us a great deal for something that is fairly new to the market. Especially if they want to help the community and make a name for themselves. Everyone needs to make a profit I understand, I just dont consider it a great deal if another person got a listing for $350 for 1pc and we need to get 11 people just to cut 5 bucks. =X. I hope we get 26+!

 

i agree with everything you said. either those where not the same headlights, or we're still not getting a "deal"

From what I understand, those companies on ebay don't stock any of the headlights and were in essence middlemen who would take your order and then order through SPYDER. However, it appears they got the pricing wrong so when they did turn around and order through SPYDER, they would have found out that the price was incorrect and they would probably have had to cancel your order or ask you to pony up for more. This should be the lowest prices you'll find on SPYDER w204 headlights and is a one time deal.

I couldn't get more details about who those middlemen were, but I was told originally that there was only one distributor out there which was the one normandie4life originally found and posted.

 

Something still doesnt add up right..

Im sure SPYDER would have known about this ebay seller, this company on ebay sells with over 4000 feedback and 99% positive rating. They wouldnt post a price without knowing their own profit margin or talking to SPYDER themselves on securing the product.

SPYDER doesnt even have a price list for this part on their own website I just checked. I doubt a company would just randomly throw out a random number like $364.10. The price looks more like a calculated margin after speaking to SPYDER themselves.

It might look like to me SPYDER is trying to hide the fact that they really wasnt giving us a "deal" and trying to make the most margin off this forum?

I know your trying to middle man and tryin to help us AZN but do you think this all sounds right in your opinion with what they are telling you? It seems a little fishy. Whats your thoughts/opinion on what they told you?

 

Keep in mind that I'm purely speculating right now... but SPYDER isn't some small operation. They have a huge building and warehouse and staffed appropriately from what I could see. Judging by that seller's screen name, he primarily deals with audi/vw parts. He probably has his own sales rep that he deals with for audi/vw headlights/taillights. The audi/vw sales rep probably mentioned they have this new MB product and wanting to expand his market, decided to try selling MB parts. The MB sales rep (whom I'm dealing with) had no knowledge of this until I brought it up to his attention and put a stop to it. As for the pricing, even before he gave me the GB pricing, we saw the price that the other official distributor was selling which was close to $400. Judging by the lowest price they're offering is $305, you know that's their floor (minimal 5-10%) profit.

That scenario I could see happening. All I know is they've been on the up and up with me and after meeting with them, they seem legit enough and have worked with us to get a lower price point where the initial buy in price is now the price that was originally offered for 11-20 buyers.

SO if we want our headlights to look like yours in the pictures, we have to buy the headlamp assembly from spyder and then buy the hid and led lights from you to put them in the headlamp assembly?

 

You can buy HID kit, or go with a whiter halogen bulb like some have done with Philips Diamond Visions. The eyebrows and turn signals I offer LED option for if interested as well.

From what I've observed, it's tied into trigger of your eyebrows. I'll reconfirm tomorrow.

They are tied in to the eyebrows from what I've seen which is the same functionality as normal. You can activate the strip with eyebrow with the parking light option on the headlight switch.

I'm very very interested!! My passenger side headlight is all fed up. Only question I have is does it come with all the LEDs for it? Cuz I already have the LED eyelids. And if so is there an option for what K??

 

Ok I was on my iPhone before and now I'm on my iPad so I read the whole thread. So I should be good to go since I have your HID kit and the LED turns and eyelids. Now what color temp is the lower LED strip?

Everything you have can be swapped into the unit except for the turn signal bulb as SPYDER went with the international specs instead of North American specs. We use 3457 for our front turn signal bulbs in US and Canada, but rest of the world uses 7507. I have made a few sets of our front turn signals LEDs with 7507 base however so there is a solution out there as an option for those interested.

From what I've seen, the lower LED strip is the same as OEM LED strip you see on all MBs which is 4300K. 5000K will be a relatively close match.
