Resetting Service B warning, will it effect.......

So I need to take my car in for warantee work and I want to clear the service B light before I do since it reads almost 300 days past due but i do not want it to reset my check engine code that was thrown a few weeks ago. Does pressing and holding the 2 buttons to get to the secret menu then resetting the service b warning effect the check engine codes or anything else?

I'm pretty sure the service warning and CEL are entirely different things. The service light is just a reminder. The CEL could potentially be a dangerous issue and that code is stored in your cars computer until the problem is fixed and cleared with an appropriate OBD device. You should take your car in to the dealer immediately if there is a CEL at the risk of injuring yourself or all else around you until the problem has been remedied.

No. The MIL/CEL indicator and “almost 300 days past due” service reminder are separate issues.

Requisite maintenance paperwork is typically necessary to compel warranty repairs.
Perhaps your technician failed to reset the system after completing its most recent service?

That came to mind as well, but not noticing that your technician failed to reset the service reminder, after 300 days, seems long. I think he chose to skip the service B. It's not a bad thing if you know how to do your own maintenance, but if you ignore it and subsequently get a CEL, they may be related.
