Interesting. I didn't realize that MB had it listed that slow.

And thanks, the wait has been FOREVER!

2012 C350 Palladium Sport Sedan
Car and Driver had the N54 335 at 4.8 and it is about 200 lbs or more lighter than the C350. There really isn't a comparison between the two in terms of pure performance. The BMW is more communicative and responsive but real world stop and go driving is a different story. I live in the suburbs and drive in the city as well. The C is more insulated, more comfortable to sit in with about 75-80% of the BMW's thrill. And as mentioned, a bit less expensive and better looking as a sedan.

MB is historically very conservative in their official numbers. For instance, they rate the C250 at 7.1 seconds, and mags have been getting them in mid-high 6 second 0-60 times.

We live in a pretty hilarious time when a car that hits 60 from a dead stop in under 6 seconds is called "slow".

Not putting the pre-facelift interior down, but it had a lot of details and materials that did not befit the MSRP of the car.
There are always compromises, such as putting a 4-cylinder engine in a $50K car.

True enough. I have owned a string of German cars (18, in fact) and my C300 after 4.5 years has been the best MB I've owned by a wide margin. If you have enough car knowledge to know that the momentary flash of a light on the dash is NOT a life threatening event, you will find the W204 a great car.

I call that a benefit. I won't own a V6.

The improved fuel economy, comparable performance and availability of cheaper tunes are all icing on the cake.

I think it depends on what everyone is use too. I daily drove a car that did 0-60 in 4sec for 4 years and anything that doesnt match that is slow to me.

If you are stuck with driving something in the 6sec 0-60 then of course you would have nothing to compare it too. So 6sec would be fast for you.

Example:
When you buy a 50k car 0-60 6sec and you cant even pass a Honda Civic Si (25k) 0-60 6.4sec on the highway to get to your exit it makes you think what you payed for.. and at the end of the day you just need to think... Quaility/Comfort with Mercedes nothing more.

Power go with something else or step up to AMG.
Im happy with my C350 but I will always call it a SLOW CAR, and get my performance fix from another car.

When you compare it to the other luxury cars in its class $$ to features its really a step behind everyone else in engineering.

Unless unneeded speed isn't really your thing. I just came from something that hits 60 in 12 secs from a dead stop. I live in one of the worst areas in the US for traffic, as well as frequently travel sections of I-95 where 90+ is the flow of traffic, I never had an issue with the smart where it didn't have enough power to do what I needed to do, and it was a snail compared to pretty much everything on the road.

Point being, if you're in a situation where you have to battle something else for an exit, maybe you should evaluate your driving style for that particular situation. Finesse usually wins over picking a bigger hammer.

$ to features <> engineering, otherwise the Koreans would be the most over engineered things on the road.

We've pulled this thread too off course for the OP at this point.
