Side Marker replacement
Thanks for the great DIY instructions. I was able to successfully replace the front passenger side marker on my 2008 C300 without much issue! Took less than 20 min (didn't have the panel remover so had to make do with things I had and ended up using a 2 pronged fruit fork!!!).
Thanks again!

kHuNkHuNa, regarding step 3, that little clip that holds the side marker assembly together is really really tight.
Is there a trick to popping it out? I pushed down till my thumbs were sore and no luck!

That's exactly what I've been doing. Had to brute force it out in the end.
Even with the assembly out and in my hand, that little tab was jammed really tight. Was simply impossible to remove while still in the wheel well.
That was the drivers side. Here's hoping the passenger side is as easy as you've been saying!

Side Marker Replacement
Folks I am replacing mine to the clear ones on my Black C300. Problem I'm having is that I can't seem to get it to fit tight along the bottom corner towards the wheel. I can't seem to get it aligned so that the tab pointing down that locks in in place will align and grasp again. Top and bottom front corner are fine. Its not the marker because the amber is the same now. Any advice from others who may have run into this. I've had it in and out many times to no avail.

My sidemarker will not pop out. I have been pushing and my thumbs and fingers are sore. It will not budge. I have been pushing the clip down but it will not pop out.

i ran into none of these issues, so i cant say. hoping some one else can help out
the side markers where a bit tough to get out, try pushing it all the way back in and staring over, make sure theres nothing in between the clip that u have to squeeze in order to push out? other then that i really cant help sorry

I figured it out. There is a bolt holding the back and front side marker pieces together. It's a star piece. If requested, I can go figure out what size exactly.

No bolts should be necessary to remove these unless they changed it in 2011.

There are some models that have this bolt. The housing themselves show the hole for the bolt, but some owners have reported having the bolt and some do not (mine didn't). We didn't bother doing any statistics to see if this was due to where the vehicle was assembled or some other cause, but model year did not seem to be one of the reasons as there was reported cases of cars with and without the sidemarker screw for nearly all years.
