Comand knob problem

2011 C300 Sport, P1, MM, Wood, Heated FS, DIY rearview camera.
I replaced mine with the aluminum shaft. The up and down is not good due to high frictions. All other functions are great. I noticed the up and down issues when I was replacing the shaft. I could not see what causes it. I live with it for now.

Wouldn’t scroll now scrolls but won’t navigate
that’s what I did when it wasn’t scrolling but the navigation pushing left, right, up, down and worked. Out in the aluminum shaft now the scrolling works but the rest doesnt haha. I’ve even ordered two shafts so it’s not that and watched 20 different videos. Only thing I’ve come close to is possibly a fuse

I just completed my COMAND Shift knob repair!
-definetely shave down the black plastic gear post that connects to the new metal rod. if that rod wont slide smoothly up and down you wont have enter button working sweetly.
