I am going to have to say yes it does exclude the 2010's because I am not sure if it will work on 2010's based on what others have said about trying the '10's.

 

 

I should have W204Man's REAR SAM on Monday and I will ship it back the same day. So once he gets it reinstalled in his car and lets everyone know it works, if you guys want your SAM programmed just let me know...

 

I received W204Man's SAM today...Unfortunately, I was unable to program the module. His SAM looks different than mine, I am thinking its from a SAM from a 2010+ but I could be wrong. I can communicate with his SAM but I am unable to program it. I am going to have to figure out what the difference in the SAM units are before I can program others. If someone is local to Dallas that will let me connect to there car and look at their SAM module, that would be great and also a big help to me in figuring this out.

My car is 2008? As i said MB did replace it a while back could that be it?

 

Thats what I'm trying to figure out...I started a new thread asking others if they know the the difference in two SAM's, and you can see that your part number, HW, and SW version are different. I'm hoping someone can look the numbers up and tell me more about them. When I try and program your SAM it says Control Unit Version unavailable.

 

I have been in contact with Whipplem104 and he has confirmed my thinking in that the SAM from W204Man looks like it is a 2010+ SAM, so if someone wants to send me their SAM that is out of a 2008-2009, I will program their SAM to work with the new tail lights and then once confirmed I will let others know and I will program anyone's 08-09 SAM for a small fee.

I met with ranorris2 today. He happend to be in the LA area today. He was kind enough to meet up with me. For those of you guys in doubt of sending him your SAM, let this testimony be a sign of assurance for you! He was able to program my SAM unit in less then 10 minutes. Super courteous and professional! Check out the results below!

just got my SAM back from ranorris2 and everything works perfectly. definitely contact him if you need to reprogram your SAM. did everything that he promised in the time that he said he would.

Quick question, when you guys buy the tail lights from parts.com do you just buy [1]? or all 5 of them, the screw, blub, gasket, socket panel etc?

Are you also only able to do pre 10's? I have a 2010 with Factory lighting package, and it drives me nuts that no one has yet to figure out how to program 10/11 vehicles to retro the newer tails. If by chance you are indeed the "Golden Child" I will be more than happy to order a set of lights to get this done. Let me know, and thank you in advance for your offer bro....
