How do I access the puddle lamps under the side mirrors? (2012 only I believe?)

How do I access the puddle lamps under the side mirrors? (2012 only I believe?)
Just trying to figure out how to access those bulbs. Naturally Mercedes puts very ugly yellow bulbs in their new side mirror puddle lamps. Clueless as usual. I imagine the mirror glass needs to be removed in order to gain access. Anyone know how to do that? Searching hasn't yielded good results. Thanks.

I kinda think it's taking off the mirror..but I'm afraid to attempt that...if not then maybe disassemble the side mirror itself and work from there...

I know that with the E you actually pull the mirror glass off (there is a way to unclip it through the edge if you motor the mirror all the way down). From there you can remove the motor and get to the light. I'm trying to figure out if it is the same for the 2012 C and if so, how you do it exactly. I remember the W203 forum always being very good with these technical things, it was sort of the focus. I feel like this forum is less about technical modifications / discussions and more about people posting photos of their wheels and whatnot

I thought that there would be clips behind the mirror when facing it down but I couldn't see any...maybe I'll give it another look

I saw that thread. Did I miss something or did he post the photos with not so much as a word about how he got the mirror off?
