C300 Alternative Exhaust Tips
The oem tips on my c300 were bugging me so I went and found an alternative. I cut off the stock oval tips and welded about 3 inches of 1 and 3/4" pipe to the end of it, retaining the factory allen screws incase I want to go back to stock. I had to buy a oscillating tool to trim around the plastic insert on the bottom to make room for the larger tips and used a variety of files, sandpaper, and heat to smooth out the edges.
The tips I bought to replace them were off of a Porsche 911. I was trying to get a hold of any rectangular tip about 6-7 inches wide. My first choice was to get tips from a newer generation Acura TL but I was not able to find any.
I would advise you to set your tips in a permanent position before you make the final cuts on the plastic. I will say that this is not an easy task to make a perfect fit and finish. Luckily everything came out pretty well. BTW, the tips I bought are bolt-on so I can adjust the depth, angle and tilt of them.
*If you don't like the way it looks I could care less and I don't need you to comment on my thread.*

I feel like the stock exhaust tips look much better with the car, but maybe that's just because I'm used to them? Looks like a nice job.

Thanks for the comments, I will post some better pictures with the new taillights, spoiler, and when the car is clean.

Agreed with the above. They suit the car really well and are different. Personally, i wouldn't put a quad exhaust on my C220 as it implies power which really it doesn't have!

Great job! What kind of of weld did you use? Nice Porsche tips too. Are they sticking out at the same dimension as the OEM or are they out a little further? Just asking?

Thanks! Used a standard wire feed welder. Tips are sticking out maybe a tad further? I just set them to where i thought they looked best...didnt try to mimic the stock setup.
